Abstract:
Methods and compositions for identifying novel pesticidal gene homologues are provided. Specifically, the methods of the invention comprise systematically designing oligonucleotide primers that are specific for a pesticidal gene of interest and performing successive rounds of PCR amplification of nucleic acid material from a microorganism, particularly a Bacillus thuringiensis strain, to identify novel homologues of known pesticidal genes. Oligonucleotide primers that can be used to practice the present methods are further disclosed.

Bi-directional stable communication between the main station and the intelligent electric meters and collection of electrical energy information and the adjustment of parameters of electric meters can be realized by transmission medium in the present invention. The system of the present invention features complete functions, stable user-friendly operation interface, and has good expansion potential. Therefore this system is an important technical means for user-side management. The present invention greatly improves management efficiency and economic benefits in the electrical power department.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a vehicle-carried radiation inspection system having a simple structure with advantages of convenient operation, little scanning blind area and reliable safety performance. The system comprises a loading vehicle, a lifting device mounted to the loading vehicle and a radiation scanning inspection means fixedly mounted to the lifting device so as to ascend/descend together with the lifting device. The lifting device is configured to enable the lifting device and the radiation scanning inspection means as a whole to be apart from the ground by a predetermined safety distance when the loading vehicle is moving, and to enable the minimum distance therebetween during inspection to be less than the predetermined safety distance. According to the invention, the radiation scanning inspection means may be switched between higher and lower positions as required with the ascending/descending of its combination with the lifting device.
Abstract:
A combined mobile container inspection system, comprising: a radiation source; a chassis; a rotatable deck provided at an end of the upper surface of said chassis and rotatable with respect to said chassis, provided with a parallelogram bracket formed by a hingedly-connected four-bar linkage mechanism, wherein the cross link of the parallelogram bracket extends to form a horizontal cross arm with detectors, the other end of said horizontal cross arm is connected with a vertical upright arm, which is vertical or parallel to said horizontal cross arm; and a sliding deck provided at the rear end of the rotatable deck and movable upwardly and downwardly, said sliding deck is provided, in turn, with the radiation source, the X-ray therefrom is always right in the face of the detectors provided in the horizontal cross arm and vertical upright arm, calibrator and collimator.
Abstract:
A composition and associated method for chemical mechanical planarization (or other polishing) are described. The composition comprises an organometallic-modified colloidal abrasive and a nitrogen-containing polymer compound (e.g., a polyalkyleneimine, such as polyamidopolyethyleneimine). The composition possesses both high stability towards gelling and/or solids formation and high selectivity for metal removal in metal CMP. The composition may further comprise an oxidizing agent in which case the composition is particularly useful in conjunction with the associated method for metal CMP applications (e.g., copper CMP).
Abstract:
A process for preparing 5,6-diethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-amine and acid addition salts thereof from 2-aminoindan. The process comprises protecting the amino group of 2-aminoindan, acetylating the ring in the protected compound, reducing the acetyl group to ethyl to form a monoethyl derivative, acetylating the monoethyl derivative, reducing the acetyl group to form a diethyl derivative, deprotecting the latter by hydrolysis and recovering the product in free or salt form. The process does not use deleterious Grignard reagents or nitrites such as isoamyl nitrite, and provides high regioselectivity and high yield of 5,6-diethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-amine. In addition, the process uses acetyl halide as both a reactant and a solvent.
Abstract:
Provided are methods of treating malaria comprising administration of compounds of Formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a subject in need thereof, wherein the variables are as defined herein. Also provided are uses of the compounds of Formula (I), as defined herein, for treating a Plasmodium infection, and for treating malaria. Also provided are methods of treatment further comprising administration of one or more additional anti-malarial compounds.
Abstract:
An approach is provided in which a pH-indicating compound is incorporated in a printed circuit board. The printed circuit board includes a number of layers with the pH-sensitive indicator being incorporated in one of the layers. Conductive pathways are formed from a conductive sheet laminated onto an outer surface of the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board is exposed to a pH-activating solution. Plated-through hole defects in the printed circuit board are identified by detecting a color formation at a surface location of the printed circuit board that corresponds to the plated-through hole defect. Another approach is also provided where a pH-activating compound is incorporated in one of the layers of the printed circuit board which is then exposed to a pH-indicating solution to produce the color formation that identifies the location of the plated-through hole defect.
Abstract:
Improved mask layout patterns are described for closely spaced primitives in phase shift photolithography masks. In one example, at least a portion of a photolithography mask layout is decomposed into primitives. Jogs are identified from among the primitives, the jogs being characterized by three adjacent corners. E-fields are determined for the identified jogs and are applied to synthesize an electric field at a substrate. The mask layout is corrected using the synthesized electric field and a printed wafer pattern is calculated.
