Abstract: A system for producing steam includes a source of superheated water with superheated water output; a membrane filtration system in fluid communication with the superheated water output and including a membrane filter with a permeate side and an opposing retentate side. The membrane filter includes a separation membrane constructed to reject organic molecules. The system may be used for removing organic compounds, such as anti-corrosion agents or contaminants, from superheated water to produce steam. A method for producing steam includes directing a cross-flow of heated pressurized water including a first concentration of an organic compound across a membrane filter. The membrane filter includes a separation membrane constructed to reject the organic compound; and one or more support layers adjacent the separation membrane. A steam permeate including a second concentration of the organic compound is collected, where the second concentration is lower than the first.

Abstract: A dosing and mixing assembly for an exhaust aftertreatment device includes a conduit arrangement defining overlapping, coaxial flow paths that join at a common flow path. The conduit arrangement defines a mixing region upstream of the overlapping, coaxial flow paths, an impact region at the overlapping, coaxial flow paths, and a merge region where the coaxial flow paths join. The outer of the coaxial flow paths insulates the inner of the flow paths at least as the impact region. Reactant can be dispensed into the inner flow path along a spray path that intersects the impact region of the conduit arrangement. A spray protector can be provided at or upstream of the mixer to inhibit swirling of reactant at the doser nozzle.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to filtration systems that can pulse clean filter elements selectively, in specific patterns, to enhance cleaning efficacy. In an embodiment, a filtration system is included having a plurality of filter element mounts configured to retain filter elements, a compressed gas supply, and a plurality of valves in fluid communication with the compressed gas supply. The system further including a control circuit configured to control actuation of the plurality of valves. The system can operate in a first mode and a second mode. Wherein operating in a first mode includes opening valves according to a first valve actuation pattern and operating in a second mode includes opening valves according to a second valve actuation pattern. The system can be configured to periodically switch from the first mode to the second mode and compare the efficacy of the two modes. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: An air cleaner assembly is disclosed, along with related methods. In one aspect, the air cleaner assembly has a housing including a housing body and a removable cover that together define an interior volume for holding a filter cartridge. The housing body can include a first plurality of lugs, wherein each of the first plurality of lugs has a first engagement surface disposed at a first angle that is oblique to a rotational plane of the cover. A second plurality of lugs can be provided on the cover, wherein each of the second plurality of lugs has a second engagement surface disposed at the first angle. A lock mechanism can also be provided that is disposed on the cover, wherein the lock mechanism includes a lock member axially movable between a locked position and an unlocked position to selectively secure the cover to the housing body.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a new quick-connect, bayonet-type coupling arrangement for use with connecting a filter cartridge or element to a fluid-consuming machine. Advantageously, the features of the coupling arrangement can be provided while simultaneously maintaining backward compatibility with screw-thread based systems by modifying the screw thread on the end cap so as to include judicially arranged non-interfering segments. Accordingly, the disclosed fluid filter elements can not only be installed on systems according to the present disclosure but also on prior-art systems presenting a thread-based connector.
