Abstract:
The invention provides a process for selecting and ordering one or more sets of linguistic objects. The invention orders a current list of items for selection that comprises a first list of one or more items of a first language and a second list of one or more items of a second language, the current list of items being displayed in an order based on the first language having a priority over the second language. In response to a user selection of one item from the second list, the invention changes a priority for ordering a subsequent list of items to order the subsequent list of items based on the second language having a priority over the first language.
Abstract:
The invention concerns user entry of information into a system with an input device. A scheme is provided in which an entire word that a user wants to enter is predicted after the user enters a specific symbol, such as a space character. If the user presses an ambiguous key thereafter, rather than accept the prediction, the selection list is reordered. For example, a user enters the phrase “Lets run to school. Better yet, lets drive to “.””” After the user presses the space, after first entering the second occurrence of the word “to,” the system predicts that the user is going to enter the word “school” based on the context in which the user has entered that word in the past. Should the user enter an ambiguous key after the space, then a word list which contains the word “school” is reordered and other options are made available to the user. The invention can also make predictions on context, such as the person to whom the message is sent, the person writing the message, the day of the week, the time of the week, etc. Other embodiments of the invention contemplate anticipation of user actions, as well as words, such as a user action in connection with menu items, or a user action in connection with form filling.

Abstract:
This invention describes novel pyrazole compounds of formula III: wherein Ring D is a 5-7 membered monocyclic ring or 8-10 membered bicyclic ring selected from aryl, heteroaryl, heterocyclyl or carbocyclyl; Rx and Ry are taken together with their intervening atoms to form a fused, unsaturated or partially unsaturated, 5-8 membered carbocyclo ring; and R2 and R2′ are as described in the specification. The compounds are useful as protein kinase inhibitors, especially as inhibitors of aurora-2 and GSK-3, for treating diseases such as cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease.

Abstract:
A sensor and method for measuring the volatility of liquid gasoline by estimating its driveability index includes a sensing element having an interdigitated array of electrically conducting capacitor plates arranged to retain a predetermined volume of gasoline, the volatility of which is to be measured. The sensing element is mounted in a vehicle to be in contact with the flow of gasoline while the engine is running so that a volume certain of gasoline is drawn between and remains within the electrically conducting plates when the engine is turned off. The sensing element is connected to circuitry used to measure the change in capacitance of the sensing element as a function of time while simultaneously measuring the temperature change of the sensing element as the volume of gasoline retained by the sensing element is evaporated over time. The measurements obtained by the circuitry are used in estimating the drivability index of the gasoline.
Abstract:
The invention includes an on-board diagnostic system for monitoring exhaust gas from an automotive combustion engine and includes a sample port connected to the exhaust piping, preferably downstream from the catalytic converter. The exhaust port leads to a sample cell to which an infrared spectrometry system is operably connected to measure the concentration of hydrocarbons in the sample cell. An air pump is connected to the exhaust port and communicates with the sample cell. The air pump is operated to continuously purge the sample cell by pushing small amounts of clean air through the sample cell into the exhaust.
Abstract:
The invention is related to a nucleic acid sequence &coding a Canine coronavirus (CCV) spike protein. Such a protein can be used for the immunization of dogs against CCV infection. The nucleic acid sequence encoding the CCV spike protein can be applied for the preparation of the spike protein by means of genetic engineering techniques or can be applied for the preparation of vector vaccines.
Abstract:
The end-point of an operation in which the flow properties of particulate material are altered during agitation is determined using a probe inserted into the vessel in which agitation occurs and which deflects when hit by material being agitated and detecting when the amplitude and/or frequency of the deflections of the probe changes to a given level.
