Abstract:
Provided herein are devices, methods and other means, including those related to printers, as well as computer readable media for storing code to execute instructions for a device, and other systems for providing and supporting mobile printing and other types of devices. The printer, for example, can be coupled with one or more docks and/or other accessory devices, examples of which are also discussed herein.
Abstract:
Whole blood is treated extracorporeally to remove substances contrary to health using mesoporous/microporous or macroporopus/microporous carbon in the form of beads or a channel monolith. The carbon may be the result of carbonising a mesoporous or macroporous phenolic resin. Substances contrary to health include externally introduced toxins such as bacterially derived staphylococcus enterotoxins A, B, TSST-1 or autologous, biologically active molecules with harmful, systemic effects when their activity is excessive or unregulated. Examples include the removal of inappropriate amounts of pro- or anti-inflammatory molecules and toxic mediators of systemic inflammatory response syndrome related to sepsis, cardio-pulmonary by-pass surgery, ischaemic reperfusioninjury; the removal of larger molecular weight and protein bound uremic toxins related to kidney and hepatic toxins related to liver failure and the removal of toxins relevant to biological and chemical warfare.
Abstract:
A plurality of virtual machines execute on a network of physical computers. The virtual machines are deployed in fenced and unfenced configurations across multiple physical computers. Host level virtual network devices execute on the physical computers, and intercept the virtual machine network traffic. For each fenced configuration of virtual machines, a distributed virtual switch transmits network traffic between the virtual machines deployed in that fenced configuration, and a virtual router routes network traffic between virtual machines deployed in that fenced configuration and external components.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic field probe is provided that is capable of measuring four electromagnetic field components in a spatial plane tangential to the central axis of the probe. The probe included two dipoles and two loops. The dipoles are disposed about the central axis at substantially 90 degree angles, while the loops are disposed from 45 to 225 and from 135 to 315 degrees, respectively. In one embodiment, a plurality of flexible conductors, signal combiners and switches are used to couple the dipoles and loops to a network or spectrum analyzer. To isolate the effects of field components that are incident to the central axis of the probe, a 180 degree signal combiner may be employed to separate the common mode signals.
Abstract:
An energy density diversity antenna (EDA) has a least a pair of antenna elements, whose feeding points are connected to outputs of a hybrid coupler configured such that a sum and a difference signal may exist at the feed points of the antenna elements. First reactive elements are respectively inserted in the antenna elements proximal the respective feed points. The antenna elements are joined at a point distal from the feed points by a second reactive element, and a third reactive element is coupled between feed lines coupled to the feed points at a location between the feed points and the outputs of the hybrid coupler.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to liquid fertilizer composition having a high nitrogen content comprising an aqueous mixture of ammonium nitrate, an aqueous urea-formaldehyde resin solution and optionally urea that possess surprisingly depressed freeze points and salt-out temperatures.
Abstract:
A radio frequency anechoic test chamber (100) includes a test stand (118) that includes a relatively small diameter, mechanically robust, telescoping lower vertical support column (202), a large diameter thin walled middle vertical support column (204) that includes a sheet or coating of absorbing material (224) disposed proximate the circumference of the thin walled middle support column, (204) and an upper support member (206). The radio frequency anechoic test chamber provides improved ripple performance that allows more accurate measurements of the gain pattern of radio frequency equipment.
Abstract:
A document prototyping system, program product, and methods are provided to create a systems engineering prototype document. The system can include a database having a plurality of systems engineering document templates stored therein. Each of the plurality of systems engineering document templates includes a plurality of document sections. The system can also include user interface in communication with the database to provide access to the database by a user, a document browser in communication with the database and the user interface to browse the plurality of systems engineering document templates through the user interface, a document section selector in communication with the user interface to select a subset of the plurality of document sections from the plurality of systems engineering document templates responsive to the user, and a document section merger responsive to the document section selector to merge the selected sections into a new systems engineering prototype document having the subset of the plurality of document sections to thereby define a new systems engineering prototype document format.
Abstract:
An antenna arrangement (402) for a wireless communication device (400) comprises a first element (404) and a second element (406). The first element (404) is coupled to circuitry (408) of the wireless communication device (400). The second element (406) is movable between a first and a second position relative to the first element (404). The performance of the antenna arrangement (402) is substantially less desirable when the second element (406) is between the first and the second position than the performance of the antenna arrangement (402) when the second element (406) is at either the first or the second position. The second element (406) is mechanically spaced apart from and substantially electrically coupled to the first element (404) in both the first and the second position. The antenna arrangement (402) advantageously provides for reduced dimensions while achieving desirable performance.
