The method may comprise: (a) permeating the tissue section with monomers for a negatively charged expandible gel, (b) allowing the monomers to polymerize in the tissue sample, (c) hydrating the tissue sample, thereby causing the sample to expand, (d) adhering expanded tissue sample to a positively charged surface and (e) dehydrating the expanded tissue sample while it is on the planar surface.

In an exemplary embodiment, the device includes an elongate anchor member comprising a proximal end and a rounded distal end to facilitate insertion into a user's vagina, a bridge extending laterally from an intermediate location of the anchor member, a guide on the bridge spaced apart from the anchor member such that the guide is aligned with the user's urethra, the guide including a passage therethrough sized to receive a urinary catheter therethrough, and a handle on the proximal end of the anchor member to facilitate manipulation by the user and consistent, accurate alignment of the guide.

摘要: Provided herein are compositions, methods, and kits for proliferating muscle cells by exposing the muscle cells to a prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) compound or compound that activates PGE2 signaling. Also provided are methods for regenerating muscle in a subject suffering from muscular atrophy, dystrophy, and/or injury by administering a PGE2 compound alone or in combination with isolated muscle cells. The PGE2 compound in combination with the isolated muscle cells can be administered prophylactically to prevent a muscle disease or condition.

摘要: Improved fabrication is provided for devices in the GaN material system that require an embedded p-type layer. The effect of Mg diffusion from the p-type layer is compensated for using an GaN interlayer that is etched to be nanoporous at its top surface. In addition to serving as a diffusion barrier, the GaN interlayer preferably has C and O impurities from the etch that tend to compensate unwanted Mg doping in layers above the GaN interlayer. Importantly, the entire structure can be grown at high temperatures, which desirably avoids low temperature growth steps that tend to reduce material quality.

摘要: Aspects involve a stretchable composite film including a polymer material having at least a portion of the polymer material being densified through covalently-attached fluorination molecules. In certain specific examples, fluorinated molecules are covalently attached to a surface region, in the form of a layer or film (e.g., polymer semiconductor (PSC) film of a transistor substrate) to facilitate operational stability and/or to encapsulation performance (e.g., stretchability-related performance).
