    摘要: A brake control apparatus includes wheel cylinders which apply braking force to wheels when supplied with hydraulic fluid; a wheel cylinder pressure control system that controls a wheel cylinder pressure independently of a brake operating member operation; a manual hydraulic pressure source that includes first and second hydraulic pressure sources that pressurize the hydraulic fluid; a hydraulic fluid supply path that connects the manual hydraulic pressure source to the wheel cylinders; and a controller. Communication through the hydraulic fluid supply path is interrupted when the wheel cylinder pressure control system controls the wheel cylinder pressure, and the communication is permitted when the wheel cylinder pressure deviates from a target pressure. The controller executes control so that the hydraulic fluid from the first hydraulic pressure source starts to be supplied after the hydraulic fluid from the second hydraulic pressure source starts to be supplied.

    摘要: During a non-control mode, a separation valve is closed, and thus separates a first supply path that supplies working fluid to at least one of wheel cylinders and a second supply path that supplies working fluid to at least one of the other wheel cylinders, from each other. An on-off valve provided on the first supply path is kept closed despite a valve opening command, due to the effect of the differential pressure between the outlet and inlet openings of the valve if the differential pressure is above a predetermined value while the valve is closed. When occurence of a closure failure on the separation valve is assumed during braking, a brake ECU stops the control performed by a wheel cylinder pressure control system, and shifts to a backup non-control mode, and controls the discharge of working fluid from the first supply path-side wheel cylinders so that the on-off valve is opened in accordance with the valve opening command. Thus, the confinement of the wheel cylinder pressure is prevented.

The surface-coated cermet cutting tool is formed by coating, on a surface of a tool substrate, the hard-coating layer which includes an upper layer and a lower layer. The lower layer contains titanium compound layers and the upper layer contains an Al2O3 layer. One layer of the titanium compound layers in the lower layer includes a TiCN layer which has an average layer thickness of 2.5 to 15 μm and indicates a tilt-angle frequency distribution graph in which the highest peak exists in a tilt angle section ranging 0 to 10° and the total sum of frequencies existing in the range of 0 to 10° occupies a ratio of 45% or more of the total frequencies in the tilt-angle frequency distribution graph.

    摘要: A brake fluid pressure control device controls brake fluid pressures through control of fluid pressure control valves operated in accordance with control signals from, for example, a computer. Signal lines for supplying control signals to control circuits controlling coils of linear valve devices for some wheels (e.g., front-left and rear-right wheels) are connected to a brake ECU by a connector, and signal lines for supplying control signals to the control circuits controlling coils of linear valve devices for other wheels (e.g., front-right and rear-left wheels) are connected to the brake ECU by a different connector. Thus, even if one of the connectors starts operating abnormally, it is possible to supply control signals via the signal lines connected by the other connector and control linear valve devices for some of the wheels (e.g., a pair of diagonally located wheels).

    摘要: When charging at a voltage with a polarity different from that of a voltage charged in the capacitive display element, by turning the switch ON, after carrying out a charging/discharging to modulate the both electrodes of the capacitive display element to the ground potential, the same is charged at a voltage with another polarity. As compared with the case where the charging/discharging between the positive power supply voltage +VM and the negative power supply voltage −VM is made directly, the electric power consumption can be reduced to ½ when the same is once modulated to the ground potential 0V. The electric power consumption can be further reduced by modulating the intermediate potential in a plurality of steps.

    摘要: A rubber composition includes a rubber component, a polyethylene short fiber, and a blowing agent. The rubber component has a polybutadiene and at least one natural rubber or synthetic diene rubber. The polybutadiene has a weight-average molecular weight of 5,000 to 30,000 obtained as a weight-average molecular weight corresponding to polystyrene and further has a content of a cis-1,4 structure of 60 to 98%. The rubber component is 6% by weight or more polybutadiene. The short fiber has an average length of 10 mm or shorter. A pneumatic tire includes the rubber composition and exhibits excellent braking ability on ice, excellent braking ability on wet road surfaces, and improved driving stability in the early driving period. The pneumatic tire exhibits remarkable improvement in braking ability on ice even after a base rubber is exposed by abrasion of a tread rubber.

    摘要: A process and an apparatus for producing an alloy containing terbium (Tb) and/or gadolinium (Gd). The process includes the steps of: (a) preparing a bath of molten electrolyte which consists essentially of 20-95% by weight of TbF.sub.3 and/or GdF.sub.3, 5-80% of LiF, up to 40% of BaF.sub.2 and up to 20% of CaF.sub.2 ; (b) reducing the TbF.sub.3 and/or GdF.sub.3 in the bath, with carbon anode and with cathode made of a metal such as iron or cobalt, so as to electrodeposit Tb and/or Gd on the cathode, and alloying the electrodeposited Tb and/or Gd with metal of the cathode so as to produce the alloy containing Tb and/or Gd in a liquid state on the cathode; (c) adding the TbF.sub.3 and/or GdF.sub.3 to the bath so as to maintain the composition of the bath, for compensating for consumption of the TbF.sub.3 and/or GdF.sub.3 during production of the alloy; (d) dripping the liquid alloy from the cathode into a receiver having a mouth which is open upward in a lower portion of the bath below the cathode, and thereby collecting the liquid alloy in the form of a molten pool in the receiver; and (e) withdrawing the molten pool of the liquid alloy from the receiver.
