    摘要: An apparatus and a method of detecting arc faults that have reduced susceptibility to nuisance tripping. The apparatus includes a current sensor, a differential current input sense circuit, a differential current (di/dt) characteristics sense circuit, an absolute current input sense circuit, an absolute current characteristics sense circuit, a power supply, a tripping circuit, a processing unit, and an electromechanical interface. The di/dt characteristics sense circuit provides information relating to the characteristic di/dt signature of a power line current. The absolute current characteristics sense circuit provides information relating to the absolute current waveform characteristics of the power line current. The processing unit correlates the di/dt characteristics to the absolute current characteristics to distinguish between electrical arc faults and nuisance loads, thereby reducing the susceptibility of the apparatus to nuisance tripping.

    摘要: A pet treat with a rough surface texture and appearance is produced from a matrix binder and at least one granular filler having a particle size between 0.1 mm to 6 mm. The matrix binder may be selected from gelatinized starches, gelatinized flours, wheat gluten, soy protein, casein, caseinates, gelatin, hydrocolloids, gums and mixtures thereof. The granular filler may be selected from mill feeds, whole grains, distillers dried grains, pork grind, bird seed and mixtures thereof.

    摘要: A magnetic head including an electrical lead layer that is comprised of a material having an ordered-phase crystalline structure. In a preferred embodiment, the ordered-phase crystalline structure of the electrical lead is epitaxially matched to the crystalline structure of the hard bias layer upon which it is formed, and there is no need for a seed layer for the electrical leads. Electrical leads comprised of the materials used in the invention having an ordered-phase crystalline structure, particularly a B2, L10, L11, and L12 structure, will have significantly reduced resistivity over the prior art electrical leads that are typically composed of rhodium or tantalum. As a result, thinner electrical leads can be fabricated which carry the same, or even greater, current than the prior art rhodium or tantalum leads. The preferred leads are comprised of NiAl, FeCo, or CuZn having a B2 crystalline structure, and alternative embodiments are comprised of CuAu, Cu3Au, CuPt, and Cu3Pt.

    摘要: A fresenel zoned microstructured optical fibre is described. The fibre is constructed of concentric zones, each zone being defined by discontinuities in the refractive index. The refractive index within each zone may either be constant or may vary, for example each zone being a section of a parabola or hyperbola. The fibre may be used as a lens, for example for coupling light between fibres with different core sizes.
