Exemplary embodiments include an insulation layer that is encapsulated to form an insulation barrier. A support member is placed around at least a portion of an insulation layer. The support member provides a support for the insulation layer, allowing the insulation layer to be easily encapsulated and installed in a battery module or pack.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems to manage thermal runaway issues in energy storage systems. Exemplary embodiments include methods and systems having a compressible thermal barrier. The compressible thermal barrier is tailored in size (e.g., thickness, volume, etc.) to prevent thermal propagation between adjacent cells, modules and/or packs when a portion of an energy source has experienced a thermal event. The methods and systems mitigate thermal propagation such that a cell adjacent to a compromised cell (e.g., actively combusting cell) does not experience thermal runaway as it is shielded from dissipating heat and does not surpass a critical temperature. The present disclosure further relates to a battery module or pack with one or more battery cells and the compressible thermal barrier placed between adjacent cells.

摘要: Proposed are a method and apparatus for manufacturing a laminate film for a cell-type battery pouch. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a technology of manufacturing a pouch film used to manufacture a pouch-type battery. Specifically, when manufacturing a laminate film for a pouch using a dry lamination process, induction heating rolls that are controllable in heat generation thereof are used to perform a post thermal treatment process after performing a lamination process using thermal rolls. The method and apparatus can reduce an aging period that is required to improve the physical properties of a manufactured pouch or can improve the physical properties of a manufactured pouch without an aging process.

摘要: A composite of metal and carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic according to the present invention comprising a predetermined metal member, a resin layer positioned at a surface of at least part of the metal member and containing an inorganic filler having a thermal conductivity of 20 W/(m·K) or more, and carbon fiber reinforced plastic positioned on the resin layer and containing a predetermined matrix resin and carbon reinforcing fiber present in the matrix resin, the carbon reinforcing fiber being at least one of pitch-based carbon reinforcing fiber having a thermal conductivity of 180 to 900 W/(m·K) in range or PAN-based carbon reinforcing fiber having a thermal conductivity of 100 to 200 W/(m·K) in range, a content of the inorganic filler in the resin layer being 10 to 45 vol % in range with respect to a total volume of the resin layer, a number density of the inorganic filler present in a region of a width X μm from an interface of the resin layer and the carbon fiber reinforced plastic in a direction of the resin layer being 300/mm2 or more, where X μm is an average particle size of the inorganic filler.
