The magnetic writer comprises a write circuit, a write pole, a first write coil for inducing a first magnetic field in the write pole by a first current provided by the write circuit, and a second write coil for inducing a second magnetic field in the write pole by a second current provided by the write circuit. The write circuit provides a first current through the first coil and a second current through the second coil. The write circuit controls the direction of the first current and the second current so that, during writing, the first magnetic field and the second magnetic field have components perpendicular to the air bearing surface that are in the same direction. When not writing, the first magnetic field and second magnetic field have components perpendicular to the air bearing surface in opposite directions.

摘要： A computer controlled manufacturing arrangement and method for selecting between multiple paths for transporting cassettes between processing locations. The manufacturing arrangement includes a plurality of stockers interconnected with tracks on which cassettes are carried on vehicles. A first and second stocker are interconnected by at least a first path and a second path formed by the tracks, and a cassette can be transported from the first to the second stocker via either of the two paths. A plurality of robotic arrangements are configured to transfer cassettes between the stockers and the vehicles. A data processing system is coupled to the robotic arrangements and configured and arranged to maintain an historical record of codes indicative of periods of time expended in transporting cassettes from the first stocker to the second stocker via the first path and second path, respectively. When a cassette is to be transported from the first stocker to the second stocker, the data processing system determines, as a function of the historical record of codes associated with the paths, which of the first or second paths is more likely to result in a lesser period of time in transporting the cassette, and selects one of the first or second paths according to which path is more likely to result in a lesser period of time in transporting the cassette. The robotic arrangement is then instructed to load the cassette on the vehicle of the selected path.

摘要： A wafer level test structure and method detects multiple magnetic domains and magnetic domain instability in a test magnetic element. The apparatus comprises a first MR sensor designed to be held in a single magnetic domain by shape anisotropy and a second MR sensor having a permanent magnet to hold the element in a single magnetic domain. A circuit connects the first and second MR sensors to detect differences between the changes in resistance between the first and second sensors in the presence of a magnetic field or differences in resistance after the application and release of a magnetic field. The circuit is preferably a balance circuit in which imbalance in the presence of a magnetic field indicates the presence of multiple magnetic domains in at least one of the test sensors. Magnetic domain stability may be tested by applying an external field to disrupt the existing single domain state of the test sensors, and thereafter detecting differences in resistance of the sensors during reversal of the magnetic field.

摘要： A cutter attachment for a mono-filament type trimmer implement including a trimmer support shaft and a cutter in the form of a rotatable mono-filament used for lawn trimming mounted at a free end thereof. The cutter attachment has a base secured to the trimmer support shaft above the cutter. An elongated swingable rod shaped guard has a closed guard end and a pair of free ends positioned in adjacency to the base. An attachment device joins the free ends of the guard to the base enabling the elongated swingable rod shaped guard to be swung from a "storage position" where the closed end of the guard rests on and overlies the shaft in a "guard position" where the closed guard end overlies the cutter for protecting shrubs, trees and the like. The guard is a triangularly shaped open ended rod that is secured by the attachment device to a conventional commercial type whip type weed cutter.
