Abstract:
The optimal direction-based flooding method for relaying a broadcast message for mobile ad-hoc networks comprises (a) an original source node selecting a first relay node; (b) selecting a message relaying direction into an area divided by a predetermined interval; (c) relaying the broadcast message by selecting the first relay node set for each message relaying direction; and (d) selecting a next relay node and relaying the broadcast message received by the previously selected relay node. Duplicated broadcast message transmissions, and competition and collision among the nodes to obtain transmission media, are reduced by transmitting the broadcast message using a minimum number of nodes in a mobile ad-hoc network including nodes having limited resources.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus and a method capable of expressing use state of a portable terminal by using a character image. The apparatus includes an emotion value memory for storing emotion variance values allocated to events occurring in the portable terminal in order to express an emotion of the portable terminal, a character memory for storing character images which express emotion states of the portable terminal, a controller for confirming an event variance value corresponding to an event when the event occurs in the portable terminal, changing an emotion value of the portable terminal by using the event variance value, confirming an emotion state corresponding to the emotion value, and selecting a character image corresponding to the confirmed emotional state from the character memory; and a display unit for displaying the selected character image as the emotional state of the portable terminal.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for transmitting a text message in a wireless terminal. The apparatus and method include displaying data input when creating a text message and analyzing the data in order to check whether the data are character display instruction words. Character image information corresponding to the character display instruction words is searched. The character image information is added to the display instruction words, and the display instruction words having the character image information are added to the text message. Character data are added to the text message if the data are general character data. The above steps are repeated and recipient information for the character text message is input when the character text message has been created. The created character text message is then transmitted.
Abstract:
A vertical memory device includes a channel, a conductive pattern, gate electrodes, a bit line and a conductive line. A plurality of the channels and the conductive patterns extend in a vertical direction from a top surface of a substrate. The gate electrodes surround outer sidewalls of the channels and the conductive patterns. The gate electrodes are stacked in the vertical direction to be spaced apart from each other. The bit line is electrically connected to the channels. The conductive line is electrically connected to the conductive patterns.
Abstract:
In a computer-implemented method of designing a nonvolatile memory device, first parameters associated with external environmental conditions are set. Second parameters associated with structural characteristics and internal environmental conditions are set. A first initial operation condition associated with an erase operation is determined based on the first and second parameters. A second initial operation condition associated with a program operation is determined based on the first and second parameters and the first initial operation condition. A final operation condition associated with reliability is determined based on the first and second parameters, and the first and second initial operation condition.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a semiconductor device using a photolithography process may include forming an anti-reflective layer and a first photoresist film on a lower surface. The first photoresist film may be exposed to light and a first photoresist pattern having a first opening may be formed by developing the first photoresist film. A plasma treatment can be performed on the first photoresist pattern and a second photoresist film may be formed on the first photoresist pattern, which may be exposed to light. A second photoresist pattern may be formed to have a second opening by developing the second photoresist film. Here, the second opening may be substantially narrower than the first opening.
Abstract:
A character agent function is added to a wireless terminal and an avatar user interface (UI) for generating and processing an event is expressed when an event occurs in the wireless terminal, such that call and message-related events occurring in the wireless terminal can be expressed through the character agent function.

Abstract:
There are provided a method of forming a fine pattern employing self-aligned double patterning. The method includes providing a substrate. First mask patterns are formed on the substrate. A reactive layer is formed on the substrate having the first mask patterns. The reactive layer adjacent to the first mask patterns is reacted using a chemical attachment process, thereby forming sacrificial layers along outer walls of the first mask patterns. The reactive layer that is not reacted is removed to expose the sacrificial layers. Second mask patterns are formed between the sacrificial layers adjacent to sidewalls of the first mask patterns facing each other. The sacrificial layers are removed to expose the first and second mask patterns and the substrate exposed between the first and second mask patterns. The substrate is etched using the first and second mask patterns as an etching mask.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for a function setting event in a mobile terminal according to user position information are disclosed. According to the apparatus and method, a character agent function is added to a mobile terminal, and when an event occurs in the mobile terminal, the event occurrence and process is expressed by corresponding character User Interfaces (UIs). When user position information confirming event and function setting related event occur, they can be expressed through the character agent function.
