Abstract:
The present invention increases the aperture size of a microphone array by introducing a diffracting structure into the interior of a microphone array. The diffracting structure within the array modifies both the amplitude and phase of the acoustic signal reaching the microphones. The diffracting structure increases acoustic shadowing along with the signal's travel time around the structure. The diffracting structure in the array effectively increases the aperture size of the array and thereby increases the directivity of the array. Constructing the surface of the diffracting structure such that surface waves can form over the surface further increases the travel time and modifies the amplitude of the acoustical signal thereby allowing a larger effective aperture for the array.

An ultrasonic slitting device cuts and seals the edges of photovoltaic cells and modules to encapsulate the photoactive components in an environment substantially impervious to the atmosphere.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to isolated genomic polynucleotide fragments that encode human SNARE YKT6, human glucokinase, human adipocyte enhancer binding protein (AEBP1) and DNA directed 50 kD regulatory subunit (POLD2), vectors and hosts containing these fragments and fragments hybridizing to noncoding regions as well as antisense oligonucleotides to these fragments. The invention is further directed to methods of using these fragments to obtain SNARE YKT6, human glucokinase, AEBP1 protein and POLD2 and to diagnose, treat, prevent and/or ameliorate a pathological disorder.
Abstract:
An improved envelope suitable for interleaving with the pages of a magazine and to be sewed or otherwise bound to the spine of the magazine. The envelope has a front and a back and an entrance for receiving sheet or other material. The back has a lip projecting outwardly from the entrance and a relatively large flap hingedly connected to the outer margin of the lip. When the envelope is moved through a conventional envelope stuffing machine, the lip is held clamped against upward movement as the flap is beneath and contiguous to the back, thereby permitting a suction or other force exerted on the front to lift the latter and thereby open the entrance to facilitate insertion of the material into the envelope.
Abstract:
A system, computer readable media, GUI, and apparatus are provided that are configured to generate and display an intellectual property rights profile for a media presentation. Information to be included in an intellectual property rights profile may be entered into a provided data entry template by, for example, a user or administrator of the media presentation. Uploaded documents may be added to an intellectual property rights profile and later accessed by a subsequent user. In some cases, a status, for example, complete or incomplete, may be determined for an intellectual property rights profile and an action may be initiated based on the status.
Abstract:
Provided herein are isolated genomic polynucleotide fragments from the from the p15 region of chromosome 11 encoding human and tumor suppressing subtransferable candidate 4 (TSSC4) and methods of use.
Abstract:
A tracheal tube assembly includes an outer cannula configured to be positioned in a patient airway and an inner cannula configured to be disposed inside the outer cannula. The tracheal tube assembly further includes a flange member secured about the outer cannula, and an outer cannula connector coupled to a proximal end of the outer cannula. The inner cannula includes a compressible proximal end region that is compressed while secured inside the outer cannula connector.
