Abstract:
A system for updating communication services includes user equipment configured to communicate using a first communication service standard and a second communication service standard, a subscriber database, an application server, and a network device. The network device detects an update trigger corresponding to a user equipment, requests that the user equipment discontinue using the first communication service standard, and flags the user equipment as updated by communicating with the application server and the subscriber database, The network device also receives a communication from the user equipment and determines whether the communication corresponds to the first communication service standard or the second communication service standard. If the communication corresponds to the first communication service standard the network device communicates an error message to the user equipment. However, if the communication corresponds to a second communication service standard, the network device processes the communication.
Abstract:
A system, apparatus and method for establishing circuit-switched (CS) communications in packet-switched (PS) multimedia networks such as IMS, and providing services via the PS networks to CS domain users. A dialog is established between terminals through the PS multimedia network. A service is provided to at least one of the terminals by way of the dialog. CS bearer information, including an indication that a communication flow is requested via a CS network, is communicated between the terminals by way of the dialog. A communication flow via the CS network is effected between the terminals as directed by the CS bearer information. IMS or other PS multimedia network services can thus be provided to users otherwise communicating via the CS-domain.
Abstract:
A method, system and gateway device enables interworking between an IP-based network and a circuit-switched network. A first address information of a first connection end located in the circuit-switched network is routed in a trigger message from the IP-based network to a gateway control function. The first and second call legs are established in parallel towards the first connection end based on the first address information, and towards a second connection end located in the IP-based network based on a second address information obtained from the trigger message. A single connection between the two connection ends is then established by connecting the first and second call legs. Thereby, IP-based signaling functionality can be used to add capability for subscribers located in the CS domain to be invited into conferences or calls with subscribers located in an IP-based domain, e.g. the IMS domain.
Abstract:
A mechanism for providing a connection from an IP-based network to a circuit-switched network, such as a GSM network is disclosed. A temporary routing number for the circuit-switched network, such as an E.164 number, is delivered to a user terminal, and a circuit-switched call leg is established from the user terminal to the IP-based network using the routing number. Thereby, IMS-services are provided for end users which are located in the radio access network not having sufficient QoS required for voice over IP. In the example of a conference call service, a request for a conference call may forwarded via a data channel or data path to an application server which provides that conference call service. The application server then selects a conference routing number and returns the routing number to the conference host terminal via the data channel. Using the received conference routing number, the conference host terminal can then set up a circuit-switched connection as a call leg of the conference call.
Abstract:
A network system comprising a service control device (SEM); and at least one application execution device (AEE); wherein the service control device (SEM) is adapted to receive a service request, to select an appropriate application execution device according to the service request, and to invoke the selected application execution device, and wherein the application execution device (AEE) is adapted to perform the service requested by the service request. A corresponding network control method is also provided. According to the invention, a flexible service architecture is possible.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided that includes a processor configured to maintain a first implicit registration set for a first apparatus, where the first implicit registration set includes a first identity unique to the first apparatus and a shared identity. The processor is also configured to maintain a second implicit registration set for a second apparatus, where the second implicit registration set includes a second identity unique to the second apparatus and the shared identity. In this regard, the first and second implicit registration sets may be maintained to enable registration of the first and second apparatuses with a network such that each of the first and second apparatuses are configured to receive communication requests to the respective first and second identities, and such that both of the first and second apparatuses are configured to receive communication requests to the shared identity.
Abstract:
An apparatus for provision of grouped identity information may include a processor. The processor may be configured to receive an indication of a subscription for a registration event package, access information related to the subscription and indicative of identities and corresponding services supported for each of the identities, communicate group identity information to a terminal, and enable selection of a particular identity associated with initiating a particular service.

Abstract:
A method and system of providing an unambiguous connection between a first user equipment and a second user equipment in a combination of a circuit switched call and a packet switched multimedia session. The method comprises to construct an equipment identifier by a first user equipment, wherein the equipment identifier distinguishes the first user equipment from any other user equipment of a same user and comprises a uniform resource name. Further, the first user equipment is registered in a session control protocol environment by sending the equipment identifier to a session control protocol registrar. In addition, a uniform resource identifier is returned by the session control protocol registrar, wherein the uniform resource identifier routes to a session control protocol application, and wherein the uniform resource identifier includes the equipment identifier as an opaque parameter. Finally, the opaque parameter is advertised by the first user equipment in a circuit switched call.
Abstract:
A communication system comprises an IP network offering services to users and an IPT provider network providing call related functions to users. A control protocol message is received and analyzed by a respective serving entity in the IPT provider network. Depending on the analyzing result, call related functions are performed by the respective serving entity. Moreover, a received control protocol message is analyzed by the IP network and, depending on the analyzing result, services are executed by the IP network.
