摘要： A weather strip fixed in place by pressure against an adhesive tape attachment where the adhesive ability of the tape is increased, especially at points of high stress. The fixing portion of the weather strip includes hardened portions. The hardened portions are harder than the remaining body of the fixing portion material and are positioned so as to extend along the edge of the adhesive tape or where needed to properly assist in the transfer of sealing pressure from the fixing portion onto the adhesive tape. When the fixing portion is pressed in place, the pressure is more effectively transmitted to the desired area of the adhesive tape so that the fixing portion is more firmly adhered.

摘要： A method for joining extruded weather strip portions by molding and the resulting weather strip for a motor vehicle. Ends of the extruded weather strip portions, each of which has a trim portion from which a plurality of flange retaining lips project obliquely inwardly, are placed in spaced side by side relation. A core plate having thick portions which are longitudinally spaced apart from each other are inserted into ends of the trim portions of the extruded weather strips so that the thick portions press the flange retaining lips against opposed inner surfaces of the ends of the trim portions, the ends of the extruded weather strip portions together with the core plate are positioned in a cavity of a mold, and a molding material is injected into the cavity of the mold to form a molded joining portion which joins the extruded weather strip portions. Then, the mold is opened and the core plate is removed from the molded joining portion.

摘要： An automotive weatherstrip mounted along a peripheral flange of a door opening of an automobile is provided. The weatherstrip includes a trim part having a generally U-shaped cross-section to be held by a peripheral flange of the door opening and a hollow seal part for contacting a peripheral edge of a door, protruding generally perpendicular from one side of said trim part. The trip part, at a corner portion of the peripheral flange of the door opening, is curvedly formed by cutting away a portion of the hollow seal part. A molded hollow seal part, at the corner portion, is integrally molded with the trim part and has an outer configuration substantially similar to that of the hollow seal part. The molded hollow seal part is circumferentially offset from the curved trim part so as to extend along an upper side and a vertical side of the door opening. A generally triangular covering part is provided to cover a side surface of the trim part from which the hollow seal part is cut away and is integrally molded with the molded hollow seal part.

The weather strip includes a base portion for attachment to the flange, and a seal portion integrally formed with the base portion for sealing between an opening portion and a closing member. The base portion includes at least an outer side wall and a bottom wall, a double-sided adhesive tape is bonded to an interior surface of the outer side wall, and at least one part of the outer side wall and the bottom wall is composed of a hard material such as a hard rubber, which is harder than a material of the remaining part thereof, and a material exhibiting a low extensibility, such as a resin sheet, is stuck to or embedded in the outer side wall and/or the bottom wall.

摘要： A weather strip has a mounting base portion which is mounted on a flange and a seal portion which is integrally provided on the mounting base portion, so as to seal a gap between a vehicle body opening open/close member and a vehicle body opening peripheral part. The mounting base portion is provided with at least an exterior side wall and a bottom wall, and a connecting portion between the exterior side wall and the bottom wall is formed more rigid than the other portions of the mounting base portion, a pressure sensitive adhesive double sided tape being bonded to an interior side surface of the exterior side wall. A flange contact portion which holds a distal end of the flange is formed on an inner surface of the bottom wall at a position in the vicinity of the connecting portion with the exterior side wall, while a caulking member which seals the distal end of the flange is mounted on the inner surface of the bottom wall except for the portion where the flange contact portion is formed.

摘要： A door weather strip capable of surely closing a gap between a door of a motor vehicle and a door opening portion of a vehicle body while exhibiting excellent sealing properties with good appearance. The door weather strip includes a base portion for attachment to an outer periphery of the door, and a seal portion which is integrally formed with the base portion for contacting the door opening portion. The seal portion includes a main seal and a sub-seal which is provided on an outer side of the main seal. The sub-seal has a protrusion which protrudes from the base portion towards the door opening portion, and a tubular part having a generally triangular cross-section. One corner of the tubular part is integrally joined to the protrusion such that one wall which faces the one corner is located between the door and the door opening portion.
