    摘要: A method for forming seals on seal carriers, in particular vehicle doors or vehicle door frames, extrudes a sealing material strand which is to be processed to form a multiplicity of seals and has a cavity, coils or folds up the sealing material strand, forming a transportable unit that is transported to a processing site and the sealing material strand is fed continuously to a processing device by being drawn out of the transportable unit. During the processing, a section of the sealing material strand that is to be applied to the relevant seal carrier and forms the seal is in each case severed from the sealing material strand. In each case during or after the processing of the sealing material strand to form a seal, that section of the sealing material strand which forms the seal is reinforced in places at least at one predetermined longitudinal position of the section by introducing material into the cavity.

    摘要: A detachable-roof-equipped vehicle body structure includes a seal member provided in a roof opening section, and a soft top constructed to abut against the seal member. The seal member includes first and second seal units, and the soft top includes a flexible sheet for covering the roof opening section and a reinforcing member of higher rigidity than the sheet. The reinforcing member is abutted, from above, against both of the first and second seal units. The structure also includes a connecting bag part secured to the sheet, left and right side rails attached to the sheet, and a wire member inserted through the bag part and extending between the side rails. The wire member includes a small-diameter portion, and large-diameter portion each provided on a position spaced from a corresponding one of the side rails.

    摘要: A system to enable operators of extrusion facilities to eliminate the error of installing the incorrect weatherseal in an extrusion or profile. The operators extruding the profiles are provided a list by the fabricator of what weatherseal is to be inserted by placing indicia on the backing of the weatherseal, as by printing the die or profile number on the actual backing of the weatherseal, thereby providing improved weatherseals having unique indicia. The indicia designates the profile which will receive the die. The indicia correlates weatherseal with the profile/die number to confirm that the proper weatherseal is being used. To confirm the correct weatherseal is being used for the profile being produced, all the operator has to do is look at the back of the weatherseal.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a weatherstrip assembly may include forming an elongated reinforcement member, forming an elongated seal member, and trimming ends of the seal member and the reinforcement member. The reinforcement member and the seal member may be formed from first and second materials, respectively. The seal member may be formed around the reinforcement member such that the reinforcement member is at least partially embedded in the seal member. The seal member may include a plurality of sealing lips. The ends of the seal member and the reinforcement member may be trimmed using a laser cutter that is movable in multiple axes.
