Abstract:
A process for the hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of multiple condensed ring heterocyclic organosulftir compounds found in petroleum and petrochemical streams. HDS is preferably conducted in a mixed bed containing: (a) a Ni-based catalyst on an inorganic refractory support, and (b) a hydrogen sulfide sorbent material. The desulfurized stream can then be passed to further processing, including aromatics saturation and/or ring opening.
Abstract:
Naphthenic rings in naphthenic ring-containing compounds in a feedstream are selectively opened wherein at least about 50 wt. % of the ring compounds in the feedstream are characterized as containing at least one C.sub.6 ring having at least one substituent containing 3 or more carbon atoms. The naphthenic rings are opened without significant dealkylation of any pendant substituents on the ring. The feedstream, containing such compounds, is contacted with a supported catalyst containing a metal selected from Ir, Ru, or a mixture thereof, which catalyst when reacted with a feed comprised of 20 wt. % n-butylcyclohexane in heptane diluent will result in: a) at least a 10% yield of C.sub.10 paraffin yield/%C.sub.10 ring disappearance.

ECR-31 is a new zeolite having a 12-ring channel. It may be expected to have similar properties to other 12-ring channel zeolites in catalysis and separations.
Abstract:
This invention relates to novel zeolitic compositions having one or more transition metals as well as aluminum and silicon in the framework tetrahedral positions. The composition has a mazzite-like structure. The invention also involves a process of preparation in which at least one divalent transition metal is directly synthesized into the product.
Abstract:
A process for converting an oxygenate feed to light olefins using a microporous zeolite catalysts such as ECR-1, mazmorites, and/or ECR-18 is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the process is conducted at approximately 440.degree. C. (824.degree. F.) to about 460.degree. C. (860.degree. F.) using a methanol:water (approximately 1:4 molar ratio) feed and results in superior production of light olefins.
Abstract:
This invention relates to novel zeolitic compositions having transition metals as well as aluminum and silicon in the framework tetrahedral positions. The composition has a structure similar to mazzite type zeolites. The invention also involves a process of preparation in which at least one transition metal is directly synthesized into the product.
Abstract:
This process is for the reforming of (particularly; the aromatization of and isomerization of) alkanes to produce aromatics isonomal alkanes. Although the process and catalyst parameters can be adjusted to produce a majority of one or the other of the aromatic or isomerate products, the process is especially favorable for the production of a superior gasoline blending component having high octane blending values and containing significant amounts of both aromatics and branched paraffins. Only a small amount of cracking takes place. The process is catalytic and uses a high silica faujasite type zeolite, which contains a catalytic amount of at least one Group VIII noble metal, particularly platinum, within the pores of the zeolite.
