摘要: In an image pick-up apparatus, a plurality of pixels, each pairing a semiconductor conversion element for converting an incident electromagnetic wave to an electric signal and a thin film transistor connected to the semiconductor conversion element, is arranged in a two-dimensional state on a substrate. The image pick-up apparatus includes gate wiring to which gate electrodes of thin film transistors of a plurality of pixels arranged in one direction are commonly connected, and signal wiring to which source electrodes or drain electrodes of thin film transistors of a plurality of pixels arranged in a direction different from the one direction are commonly connected on the substrate. Protection layers are arranged on the thin film transistors, the gate wiring and the signal wiring. The protection layers formed at least at the same time. Then, the protection layers are removed in at least a part or all of regions in which the semiconductor conversion elements are formed.

摘要: A spindle motor using a hydraulic bearing is provided, wherein an R-face or C-face is formed on each of upper and lower edges of an outer periphery of a rotating disk portion rotatable integrally with a spindle, and the R-face or C-face is formed into a mirror-finished surface having a surface roughness of 0.3 s or less in Ra, preferably, 0.1 s or less in Ra. Alternatively, a recess may be formed in a portion, facing to each of the upper and lower edges of the outer periphery of the rotating disk portion, of an inner wall surface of the hydraulic bearing. Such a spindle motor provides a disk drive capable of suppressing a variation in rotational speed of the spindle motor caused by tilting of the spindle due to vibration and impact, thereby ensuring a stable recording or reproducing operation.

摘要: A cylindrical member is placed in a dead-end hole formed in a housing made of a material such as aluminum. A peripheral portion of the hole is pressed down to plastically deform the housing material and to supply the deformed material into a groove formed on an outer periphery of the cylindrical member. The cylindrical member is calked to the housing in this manner. To supply a proper amount of deformed material into the groove for obtaining a quality calking, an inflection point of a calking curve indicating a relation of a calking force and a calking stroke is detected during the calking process. After the inflection point is detected, the calking is performed by giving a predetermined calking stroke or by adding a predetermined calking force.

摘要: A radiation thermometer that avoids deterioration of measurement accuracy or loss of hygiene due to a dirty front end of a probe portion of the radiation thermometer, lowers running costs which are created if a probe cover is used, and reduces the labor of procuring the probe cover. To this end, the front end of the probe portion of the radiation thermometer has a waterproof structure so that the front end of the probe portion can be wiped with alcohol or the like.
