    摘要: A device, a system and a method for contracting tissue in a mammalian body. The contracting device comprises a body and a plurality of legs radially splayed there from. Each leg includes a snap-acting spring tip. When a force is applied to the device, the tips operate to transform the device from a deployment state into a treatment state. Each leg may also be bent at one or more deformation elements in response to the application of force. The system comprises a contracting device slidably received within a delivery catheter. The method of contracting tissue in a mammalian body comprises delivering a contracting device in a lumen of a catheter proximate a treatment area, releasing the contracting device from the catheter, positioning legs of the contracting device on tissue to be contracted, exerting a force on the contracting device, transforming the device into a treatment state, and reducing a compass of the tissue in response to the attainment of the treatment state.

    摘要: A sheath catheter includes a positioning wire fixedly attached at its distal end to a distal tube. A proximal tube is slidably disposed on the positioning wire proximal of the distal tube and sized so that the distal tube may be nested therein. In one embodiment, a series of coordinating stops are fixed on the tubes so that the distal tube can slide back and forth within the proximal tube but cannot be extracted from the proximal tube. As such, the over-the-wire length of the catheter can be varied. In another embodiment, an additional telescoping portion can be added between the distal tube and the proximal tube for greater control over the length of the sheath catheter. In this embodiment, the tubes are sized so that the middle tube may be nested within the proximal tube and the distal tube may be nested in the middle tube.

    摘要: The invention relates to a catheter device and method of use for exchanging a catheter having a full-length guidewire lumen over a conventional-length guidewire without the use of a guidewire extension or an exchange wire. The catheter device includes an elongated shaft defining an inflation lumen and a guidewire lumen extending longitudinally throughout its length, and a hydraulic exchange lumen extending from the proximal end of the shaft and terminating proximal the distal end of the shaft, wherein the hydraulic exchange lumen is in fluid communication with the guidewire lumen. A balloon is coupled to the distal section of the shaft and is in fluid communication with the inflation lumen. A flow guiding member is disposed within the guiding catheter and functions to redirect the distal flow of pressurized fluid traveling through the hydraulic exchange lumen in a proximal direction through the guidewire lumen.
