摘要: The spark device of the present invention includes a line of spaced apart conductor segments which have small spark gaps therebetween. One end of the line of segments is connected to a source of electrical energy, and the other end is connected to ground. Upon applying electrical energy to the line of segments, a plurality of sparks are emitted simultaneously at each of the spark gaps. The device can be in the form of a conventional spark plug or can be embedded in a circular body mounted to the combustion engine as part of the gasket assembly.

摘要: In a system having a waste heat recovery subsystem utilizing a heat exchanger, such as a refrigeration system having a heat exchanger for extracting and recovering heat energy from the superheated refrigerant by means of a transfer fluid, method and apparatus for control of the heat recovery subsystem. A combination of three interactive control systems is provided for control of the flow of the heat transfer fluid through the heat exchanger. A first heat sensor means determines when the waste heat temperature is sufficiently high, controlling a pump to obtain circulation of the fluid when such temperature exceeds a preselected value. A second heat sensor means monitors the temperature of the heat transfer fluid and stops circulation of the fluid when such temperature exceeds a preselected safe upper limit. The second heat sensor means also controls the pump to circulate hot fluid through the heat exchanger when no waste heat is available and the subsystem is exposed to potentially freezing ambient temperature. Third heat sensor means monitors the transfer fluid temperature at the outlet of the heat exchanger and controls the rate of flow of the fluid in a manner proportional to such temperature.

摘要: This invention provides a process for control in oil and gas wells and related facilities of prokaryote caused souring, fouling and corrosion by reduction of problematic prokaryotes with naturally occurring lysing organisms, particularly sulfate-reducing prokaryotes by proliferating suitable virulent lysing organisms under conditions in which problematic prokaryotes thrive, including in a gas production wellbore. The process provides in situ proliferation of virulent lysing organism in a wellbore by providing both virulent lysing organisms and their host prokaryotes to selectively grow an effective control amount and concentrations of lysing organisms in a well formation.

摘要: A vibration isolation pad comprises at least two layers of elastomeric material, and at least 1 layer of fiber mesh. The fiber mesh is encapsulated between the layers of elastomeric material, and cured to form an elastomeric/fiber mesh/elastomeric laminate, thus producing a thinner, more flexible, lower cost vibration isolation pad.

摘要: A system and method for recording and displaying vectors along a graphical path in a video game is provided. Upon initiation of a video game event, a player views vectors associated with the game paths of one or more player characters. The vectors may be net resultant force vectors generated in real time that act on each player character to determine each player character's dynamics of motion. Furthermore, the vectors may be net resultant force vectors associated with a previous game path, such as a “best time” path. The previous game path may comprise a “worst time” path and an “average time” path. Additionally, the net resultant force vectors may convey player character state travel information via one or more colors. In one embodiment of the present invention, the player may gauge game progress, future game maneuvers, and obstacle avoidance via observation of the net resultant force vectors.

摘要: An image sensor is formed with shifts among the optical parts of the sensor and the photosensitive parts of the sensor. The optical parts of the sensor may include a color filter array and/or microlenses. The photosensitive part may include any photoreceptors such as a CMOS image sensor. The shifts allow images to be formed even when the light received at a given pixel location varies in angle of incidence as a function of pixel location within the array. The relative shifts among the pixel components may be, for example, plus or minus some fraction of the pixel pitch. The shift may be variable across the array or may be constant across the array and may be deterministically determined.

摘要: An alternate display content controller provides a technique for controlling a video display separately from and in addition to the content displayed on the operating system monitor. Where the display is a computer monitor, the alternate display content controller interacts with the computer utility operating system and hardware drivers to control allocation of display space and create and control one or more parallel graphical user interfaces adjacent the operating system desktop. An alternate display content controller may be incorporated in either hardware or software. As software, an alternate display content controller may be an application running on the computer operating system, or may include an operating system kernel of varying complexity ranging from dependent on the utility operating system for hardware system services to a parallel system independent of the utility operating system and capable of supporting dedicated applications. The alternate display content controller may also include content and operating software delivered over the internet or any other LAN. The alternate display content controller may also be included in a television decoder/settop box to permit two or more parallel graphical user interfaces to be displayed simultaneously.
