摘要: A signal communication apparatus includes a transmission component, a reception component and an identification information storage component. The transmission component is connectable to an information processing device and a signal propagation medium, and transmits an inputted image signal through the connected signal propagation medium. The reception component is connectable with an image display device and the signal propagation medium, receives the image signal transmitted from the transmission component through the connected signal propagation medium, and outputs the image signal to the connected image display device. The identification information storage component is removably attached to the transmission component, and stores identification information for identifying the image display device. The information processing device acquires the identification information from the identification information storage component connected to the connected transmission component, and outputs the image signal to the connected transmission component in accordance with at least a portion of the acquired identification information.

摘要: An optical transmission device improved in optical coupling loss between light guides and optical elements and excelling in efficiency of light utilization is provided with light guides having light incidence/emission sections on plural stepped portions, a substrate that fixes the light guides, and light receiving elements and light emitting elements arranged on the substrate to match the light incidence/emission sections of the light guides. The light receiving elements and the light emitting elements are arranged on the substrate by use of optical connectors. Coefficients of linear expansion and the rates of dimensional variation due to water absorption (or alternatively due to water absorption rates) of the light guides and the substrate here are substantially equalized.

摘要: According to the present invention, piracy of secret data is prevented without an attack detecting circuit or data deleting circuit. In a secret data processing unit, a cell contains fluid in a sealed space. Code generators arranged in the sealed space receive a code generation request to generate codes specified by the pressure value of the fluid. A key generator disposed in the sealed space generates encryption keys/decryption keys specified by the generated codes. An encryptor/decryptor also disposed in the sealed space receives requests for secret data encryption/requests for encrypted secret data decryption, and outputs code generation requests to the code generator to encrypt the secret data/decrypt the encrypted secret data by using the generated encryption key/decryption key. Both codes and encryption keys/decryption keys generated and used, are not statically stored in the cryptographic processing unit.

摘要: An image sensor capable of reading with high sensitivity at high speed, in which each light-receiving element consists of two photodiodes PD1 and PD2, which comprise a transparent substrate 1, a metal electrode 2, photoelectric transducing layers 3a and 3b, transparent electrodes 4a and 4b and an insulating layer 5, which layers are formed in superposition and patterned to provide PD1 and PD2 that are interconnected in such a way that the relationship of polarities of one photodiode is reverse to that of the other photodiode. The transparent electrode 4a of photodiode PD1 is connected to a common electrode wiring 7 (typically made of aluminum) via a contact hole 6a formed in the insulating layer 5, whereas the transparent electrode 4b of photodiode PD2 is connected to a lead wiring 8 (typically made of aluminum) via a contact hole 6b also formed in the insulating layer 5. The metal electrode 2 inter-connecting the photodiodes PD1 and PD2 is so specified in position that it is located only in an area that is capable of light reception.
