摘要: Embodiments herein relate to a wireless device for handling communication of the wireless device in a wireless communication network, wherein a radio network node in the wireless communication network provides radio coverage over a cell. The wireless device receives from the radio network node, when the wireless device is in a first state, a beam configuration indicating which beam or beams of the cell the wireless device is allowed to select during a state transition or initial access. Furthermore, the wireless device performs an initial access to the cell or a state transition taking the beam configuration into account.

摘要: A method and apparatus according to the present invention addresses and/or prevents lost protocol synchronization in HARQ systems caused by ACK/NACK errors. One embodiment detects lost synchronization errors for NDI-based retransmission protocols and restores synchronization by sending an explicit RESET message. In response to the RESET message, the transmitter aborts the transmission of a current PDU and transmits a new PDU and corresponding NDI. Another embodiment prevents protocol synchronization errors by sending scheduling grants on a packet by packet basis. The receiver sends a subsequent explicit scheduling grant to the transmitter based on an error evaluation of a received PDU. The transmitter will not send the next PDU unless it receives the subsequent explicit scheduling grant.

摘要: According to some embodiments, a method in a wireless device of performing random access comprises receiving a random access configuration. The random access configuration comprises one or more associations of a synchronization signal block (SSB), a preamble sequence, and physical random access channel (PRACH) configuration resources. The PRACH resources comprise time domain resources and frequency domain resources. The method further comprises receiving one or more SSBs; selecting one of the one or more received SSBs; and selecting a preamble sequence. The preamble sequence is associated with the selected SSB in the random access configuration. The method further comprises transmitting the selected preamble sequence on PRACH resources associated with the selected SSB in the random access configuration. In particular embodiments, more than one SSB is associated with identical PRACH resources, and the preamble sequence associated with each of the more than one SSBs identifies the SSB with respect to the PRACH resources.

摘要: In accordance with particular embodiments, there is disclosed herein a method performed by a wireless device for handover. The method comprises receiving a first handover message from a source network node associated with a source cell. The first handover message comprises an identification of a target cell and access information associated with the target cell. The target cell is different than the source cell and comprises one or more beams. The method also includes identifying at least one beam from among the one or more beams of the target cell. The at least one beam is identified based on the identification of the target cell and the access information from the first handover message. The method further includes accessing the target cell using the identified at least one beam.

摘要: According to certain embodiments, a method by a wireless device is provided for beam-based random access. The method includes receiving, from a network node, a handover command, the handover command comprising at least one suitability threshold. Measurements of each of a plurality of beams detected by the wireless device are performed. The measurements of the plurality of beams are compared to the at least one suitability threshold. A particular beam is selected based on the comparison, and a random access procedure is initiated.

摘要: A method of operation of a wireless communication device to perform handover in a wireless communication system is provided. The wireless communication device performs a beam tracking procedure for one or more neighbor cells to provide, for each neighbor cell, a list of tracked beams for the neighbor cell. The wireless communication device receives a handover command from a source radio access node that instructs the wireless communication device to perform a handover from a source cell served by the source radio access node to a target cell served by a target radio access node. The target cell is one of the neighbor cells for which the beam tracking procedure is performed. The wireless communication device selects a beam of the target cell from the respective list of tracked beams based on random access resource configuration and/or a quality threshold and performs random access on the selected beam.

摘要: Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.
