    摘要： A recording medium playback apparatus for production of a composite video signal by combining a multiplicity of H-line video signals reproduced from playback of a plurality of recording media which carry different video signals respectively is provided in which when some H-line video signals are absent in the composite video signal, the number of the absent H-line video signals are examined and then, compensation for the absent H-line video signals is executed by interpolation between two, preceding and succeeding, H-line video signals if the number is not more than a given value or by holding a row of the preceding H-line video signals if the number exceeds the given value.

    摘要： An information recording apparatus (SSI) is provided with: a signal process device (72) for applying a predetermined signal process to a plurality of partial record information blocks constructing whole record information (R) to thereby generate processed partial record information blocks (Sr) each composed of a plurality of predetermined information units (IU), and for generating and outputting recording position information (Sac), which is to be recorded by each of predetermined reproduction units (VOBU) composing the information units, for respective one of the reproduction units. The recording position information indicates recording positions of the reproduction units corresponding to reproduction times of the partial record information blocks within a predetermined range before and after the respective one of the reproduction units on an axis of reproduction time of each of the partial record information blocks. The information recording apparatus is also provided with; a multiplex device (75, 76) for multiplexing the processed partial record information blocks and the recording position information by each of the reproduction units to thereby output multiplexed partial record information (Sap); and a record device (77, 78) for recording the multiplexed partial record information onto the information record medium.

The information editing apparatus includes a first selecting device 14 for selecting a thumbnail image from images corresponding to the image information, the thumbnail image showing the contents of the recorded information recorded on a recording medium 1, a second selecting device 14 for selecting the thumbnail image from images other than the images corresponding to the image information in the recorded information, and a recording device 8 for recording first position information and second position information on the recording medium 1. The first position information indicates on the recording medium 1 the recording position of image information corresponding to the image selected by the first selecting device 14.
