Abstract:
A device may receive first common public radio interface (CPRI) information associated with a first CPRI format. The device may determine a translation key associated with the first CPRI format. The translation key may include information associated with translating the first CPRI information to a second CPRI format. The second CPRI format may be different from the first CPRI format. The device may generate second CPRI information based on processing the first CPRI information with the translation key. The second CPRI information may be associated with the second CPRI format. The device may provide the second CPRI information associated with the second CPRI format.
Abstract:
A mobile device may receive user input for requesting personal information for a subject in proximity of a mobile device and based on the user input, selecting one of available functions. The functions may include a first function for obtaining personal information using a first identifier. The functions may also include a second function for obtaining the personal information using the first identifier. The mobile device may output the personal information as an image to a display or as speech to speaker.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are configured for accessing content supported wireless communications services. A method for obtaining non-subscription access to a network may include sending a request to access a network, and determining if subscription access to the network was granted. When subscription access is not granted, the method may further include receiving terms for non-subscription access to the network upon determining subscription access was not granted, determining if the received terms for non-subscription access were accepted, and then receiving advertising content and non-subscription access to the network in response to determining the terms for non-subscription access were accepted.
Abstract:
A system may include a macro cell base station configured to determine a service quality associated with the macro cell base station; determine whether the service quality is below a quality threshold; and instruct a small cell base station to switch from a sleep mode to an awake mode, when the service quality is below the quality threshold. The system may further include a small cell base station, located within a coverage area of the macro cell base station, configured to enter an awake mode, when instructed to enter the awake mode by the macro cell base station; and inform the macro cell base station that the small cell base station is in awake mode. The macro cell base station may be further configured to hand over one or more user devices to the small cell base station, when the small cell base station is in the awake mode.
Abstract:
A system may use optical character recognition (“OCR”) techniques to identify license plates or other textual information associated with vehicles. Based on this OCR information, the system may determine additional information, such as users associated with the vehicles. The system may further obtain other information, such as history information associated with the vehicles and/or the users (e.g., via an “opt-in” data collection service). Ad content may be selected based on trends associated with the users and/or vehicles, and may be presented via “smart” billboards (e.g., billboards that may dynamically display different content).
Abstract:
A system comprising: one or more server devices to: set a first network threshold level for determining network congestion in a network; set rate limiting criteria for determining when one or more subscribers will be rate limited; detect an increase in network congestion at a base station above the first network threshold level; identify one or more subscribers meeting one or more of the rate limiting criteria; rate limit network traffic associated with the one or more subscribers; detect a decrease in network congestion at the base station below a second network threshold level; and remove the rate limiting of the network traffic associated with the one or more subscribers.

Abstract:
Femtocells are often used to extend the coverage of wireless telecommunication networks, but do not typically incorporate mechanisms that allow their location to be easily ascertained. As described herein, a system may determine the locations of femtocells, based on the locations of user devices that attach to, detach from, handover between, and/or detect the femtocells. A map (such as a three-dimensional map) may be generated based on the determined locations of femtocells. The locations of femtocells may be used, for example, in emergency broadcast situations, in order to ensure that messages are distributed as completely as possible in a given region.
Abstract:
A system includes a communication section communicably connected to a network, and configured to receive requests for data flows from user equipment attached to the network. The system may further include a flow path determination section configured to determine, for each data flow requested, an optimal signal path from among a plurality of potential signal paths based on substantially current characteristics of the potential signal paths and on characteristics of the data flow requested. The system may further include a command plane section configured to control routing of each requested data flow in accordance with the optimal signal path determined by the flow path determination section for the respective data.
