摘要: A bidirectional light sheet including at least a first and second array of bare LED chips with top and bottom electrodes, where the arrays of LEDs are sandwiched between at least two transparent substrates having conductors bonded to the electrodes without wires to form the light sheet. The LEDs of the array are arranged within the light sheets to emit light from opposite surfaces of the light sheet to create a bidirectional light sheet. The bidirectional light sheet is suspended from a ceiling to be non-parallel to the ceiling.

摘要: The present invention provides an integrated self-contained lighting module which can be used on its own, or in conjunction with other modules to produce white light, or light of any other colour within the colour spectrum. Each module comprises one or more light-emitting elements, a drive and control system, a feedback system, thermal management system, optical system, and optionally a communication system enabling communication between modules and/or other control systems. Depending on the configuration, the lighting module can operate autonomously or its functionality can be determined based on either or both internal signals and externally received signals.

摘要: A multi-dimensional controller (150) controls the multiple parameters of a lighting system (250). A track-ball (100) that provides three axes of rotation (101-103), for example, is used to control each of three lighting parameters, such as chrominance, luminance, and saturation. In like manner, intensity, direction, and diffusion control may be controlled by a device with three degrees of freedom/control. Force-feedback (120) is optionally provided to indicate divergence from established presets (220) or recommended operating conditions. Switches (130) and other control elements are also provided to store or recall preset parameters (220), override scheduled lighting settings, and so on.

摘要: Light emitting devices comprise excitation sources arranged to excite quantum dots which fluoresce to emit light. In an embodiment, a device is manufactured by a process which involves applying an acoustic field is applied to a fluid containing quantum dots, to cause the quantum dots to accumulate at locations which are adjacent to excitation sources, and then initiating a phase transition of the fluid to trap the quantum dots in the locations adjacent to the excitation sources. The quantum dots are illuminated during the process and the resulting fluorescence is optically monitored to provide indicators of quantum dot distribution in the fluid. These indicators are used as feedback for controlling aspects of the process, such as initiating the phase transition.

摘要: A lighting structure for intensely illuminating a narrow linear region. A light source emits light into an end of a hollow, elongate light guide. A longitudinal slit light-emitting aperture extends through an external wall of the light guide. A lens is mounted in the aperture. The lens bears a plurality of prisms which extend substantially perpendicular to the slit, on an inwardly directed face of the lens. The lens may be formed of a film material. A mechanism is provided to maintain the lens flat. A diffuser mounted outwardly of the lens bears a plurality of thin striations extending transversely, relative to the longitudinal slit aperture.

摘要: A clean room ceiling light fixture formed as a sealed housing with a downwardly-directed light emitting aperture. A heat sink fixed within and spaced from the housing defines a cable raceway inside the housing. A plurality of LEDs are mounted on the heat sink. A high refractive index (polycarbonate) reflector coupled to each LED efficiently directs the LED's light through the aperture into the clean room. The LEDs and/or reflectors can be anti-reflectively coated to improve light transmission efficiency. A refractive index matching compound applied between each LED-reflector pair further improves light transmission efficiency. A spectrally selective filter material prevents ultraviolet illumination of clean rooms used for lithographic processes which are compromised by ultraviolet rays. A holographic diffusion lens and/or variable transmissivity filter can be provided to uniformly distribute the LEDs' light through the aperture. The fixture can be sized and shaped for snap-fit engagement within the H-Bar type clean room ceiling.
