摘要： In a spot film device, the inner and main carriages for a film cassette are positioned with reversible servo motors. An x-ray grid is mounted on the bottom of the main carriage and a cross grid is mounted on tracks beneath the carriage such that the cross grid may be used or not used for fluoroscopy and both grids may be used for radiography. Field defining masks are also mounted for translating selectively with the carriage. Individual reversible servo motor drives are used to advance and retract the masks and cross grid. Means are provided for absorbing shock or negating drive system momentum when the masks or grid are stopped abruptly. Reduced power is applied to the mask and grid drive motors when the masks and grid reach their stops for holding them against their stops. A motor driven palpator cone, having unique driving and locking means is provided. Means are provided for loading and unloading cassettes from either the front or rear of the spot film device.

摘要： An electrode catheter device with indifferent electrode for direct current tissue therapies is disclosed. An example of the catheter device has a flexible tubing with at least one ablation electrode. The catheter device also may also be used with a sheath for introducing the flexible tubing inside a patient's body. An indifferent electrode on the sheath can provide a ground for a direct current (DC) pulse to deliver electrical energy and create an electrical field adjacent a tissue. Various other embodiments are also disclosed.

摘要： A system for connecting a hemostasis valve to a splittable sheath includes an interface formed between a ledge on the proximal end of a cannula portion of the hemostasis valve and an engagement structure aligned with the handles of the splittable sheath. Pulling the handles to split the sheath likewise disengages the ledge from the engagement structure. A snap ring on the cannula portion engages a snap ring in the lumen of a sheath hub formed on the proximal end of the splittable sheath. An O-ring between the cannula portion and the sheath hub provides a fluid-tight seal.

摘要： A splittable cannula includes a radiopaque marker placed at or near the distal end of the cannula. The radiopaque marker may be a unitary piece, or may consist of several portions. The cannula may include a sheath or catheter body with a grooved score line running along a portion of the sheath body and a radiopaque marker located at a distal end of the body and abutting the body. The radiopaque marker may be located within the lumen of the sheath, may be embedded in the sheath wall, or may be affixed to the external sheath wall. 摘要： An apparatus for imparting a tensile force to deflect a distal portion of a catheter while maintaining its exterior dimensions may include a handle grip including a cross-section of generally predetermined exterior dimensions, and a longitudinal axis. A flexible elongate member may include proximal and distal end portions, with the proximal end portion being coupled to the handle grip. An adjustment knob may include a cross-section of generally predetermined exterior dimensions, and is rotatably coupled to the handle grip around the longitudinal axis. An elongate deflection member may be operably coupled to the adjustment knob and to the distal end portion of the elongate member. Rotation of the adjustment knob may impart a tensile force to the deflection member thereby causing the distal end portion of the elongate member to deflect from a prior configuration while maintaining the generally predetermined exterior dimensions of the handle grip and the adjustment knob.

摘要： A dual braided catheter shaft includes a flat wire forming the inner braid, thereby potentially allowing for reduced radial thickness of the shaft. In one embodiment, the shaft (100) includes an inner polymer jacket (104), an inner braid (106) formed on the inner jacket (104), an intermediate jacket (108) formed over the inner braid (106), an outer braid (110) formed on the intermediate jacket (108) and an outer jacket (112) formed on the outer braid (110). A preferred construction process involves extruding polymer material directly onto each of the inner and outer braids (106 and 110) so that little or no air gaps remain between the polymer material and the braids (106 and 110). The braiding parameters of the inner and outer braids (106 and 110) can be varied along the length of the catheter to provide varying mechanical properties.
