    摘要： A unique selectively openable seal line made between two sheets of flexible thermoplastic material is disclosed, the seal line being exceptionally resistant to unintentional opening forces but being easy to open upon the application of a specific force. The seal line may be employed in various containers, including a two chamber container for the separate storage and selective mixing of two medical substances. The container includes two sheets forming the exterior of the container and an inner, diaphgram sheet between the outer sheets. The selectively openable seal line is disposed between one of the outer sheets and the diaphragm sheet. Preferably a permanent line of securement is also included, between the other exterior sheet and the inner diaphragm sheet, extending substantially parallel to and coextensive with the openable seal line. Such a container provides a relatively inexpensive and reliable means for separately storing two medical substances in a closed system under sterile conditions, while still providing for quick and easy selective mixing of the substances when desired. Finally, the present invention is also directed to a sealing die for making the unique seal line and to a method for manufacturing the container.

    摘要： A dual compartmented container containing a medicament in one compartment and a diluent in the other with an actuating piercing element operable from outside the container. Mixing of the medicament in one compartment with the diluent in the other is accomplished by moving the piercing element inwardly into the container to pierce a primary diaphragm which seals one of the compartments to outside atmosphere as well as a secondary diaphragm which seals the compartments from each other. The piercing element is constructed and arranged to afford fluid communication between the compartments after it pierces both diaphragms. Intermixing of the contents of the container can thereby be made internally thereof.

    摘要： Provided is a process for preparing an aseptic container for separately storing a sterilized powdered component and a sterilized liquid component under clean conditions. The container includes two sealed chambers having a frangible, sterilized connection therebetween, one said chamber containing the liquid component, and the other said chamber including a sealed vial containing a powdered component. The vial has an outer surface that is aseptic throughout its entire surface area, and the frangible connection provides a sterile pathway, when desired, between the interior of the vial and the interior of the liquid-containing chamber.

    摘要： A collapsible medical agent container (10) is disclosed having walls (34, 36, 38) defining a plurality of chambers (12, 14) for containing selected quantities of one or more medical fluids or a dry or encapsulated drug or other reagent in separate sealed condition. Opening means which communicates between adjacent chambers (12, 14) for passage of fluid from one chamber to another, is normally closed by frangible closure (18) which maintains the chambers (12, 14) in separate hermetically sealed condition until flow between the chambers (12, 14) is needed. The frangible closure (18) has an elongated relatively rigid portion (20) which extends into one of the chambers and is disposed within a protective retentive tube (24), and a relatively weakened portion (22) adjacent the opening means. The closure (18) is manually openable from exterior the container (10) to permit flow between the chambers (12, 14), such as for mixing, by grasping the elongated portion (20) through the walls (30, 32) of the container (10) and bending it until the relatively weakened portion (22) is fractured.
