摘要： A connecting system for providing a fluidic connection between containers, the connecting system having at least two connecting arrangements configured to produce the fluidic connection. Each container has an initial state in which the two containers are fluidically separated from one another and a connected state in which the two containers have been fluidically connected together by a relative movement of the containers. A securing device prevents relative movement of the containers in the initial state, and a receptacle is provided in which the securing device can be accommodated for enabling said relative movement. The system is usable in a method for preparing a mixture of substances in which the containers are placed in a connecting orientation with the securing device arranged between the containers in a manner preventing fluidic connection of the containers, and releasing the securing device for enabling fluidic connection the containers by a relative connecting movement.

摘要： A closure for dispensing one or more active agents into a container comprises a sealed or sealable chamber having a breakable wall and a hollow piston slidably mounted in a piston guide. Said hollow piston comprises an outer wall having an end in the chamber and at least one ventilation aperture. Said end has a cutting formation. Said hollow piston is slidable in the piston guide between a ventilation position in which the at least one ventilation aperture allows ventilation of the chamber and a sealed position in which the at least one ventilation aperture is sealed to prevent ventilation of the chamber and a deployed position in which the cutting formation has broken through at least a portion of the breakable wall. The outer wall has a retaining formation which engages with the piston guide to releasably resist sliding of the hollow piston between the ventilation position and the sealed position and the deployed position. The hollow piston may have an outer wall, and said outer wall has an end within the chamber, facing the breakable wall, wherein the cutting end has a first edge having a cutting formation and a gap in said cutting formation.

摘要： The invention provides, in some aspects, a container system for medical solutions such as peritoneal dialysis (PD) solutions. The invention particularly features a system which includes a first compartment that contains a first medical solution, e.g., a PD osmotic agent, and a second compartment that contains a second medical solution, e.g., a PD buffer agent. The compartments maintain their respective contents separately from one another for purposes of transport, storage and/or sterilization. However, the compartments are fluidly couplable, so that their respective contents can be combined with one another, e.g., following sterilization of the agents and prior to their introduction into the patient's abdomen. To that end, a container system can include a diffuser that is disposed in a fluid pathway between the first and second compartments, e.g., to facilitate homogeneous mixing of the first and second PD agents. That diffuser is disposed within and moves relative to a structure, such as a port that defines the fluid pathway between those compartment. Thus, for example, the diffuser can comprise a body that “floats” within that pathway-defining structure and that moves from one end to the other (and/or to from points there between), depending on a direction of solution flow through the structure.

摘要： Devices and methods are provided for sterile transfer of flowable material between a syringe and one or more flowable material receptacles or between a pair of receptacles. A syringe assembly may include a tip enclosure having a flexible shroud surrounding a syringe tip, with a shroud membrane associated with the distal end of the shroud to enclose the syringe tip. The shroud is deformable to move the tip toward the shroud membrane, which may be traversed by the tip to expose the tip for material transfers. A rigid connector may be positioned at the distal end of the shroud to securely connect the syringe assembly to a receptacle. The plunger and piston of the syringe assembly may include membranes to allow material transfer at the proximal end of the syringe assembly. An adaptor may also be provided for sterilely connecting a receptacle to a syringe or to another receptacle.
