Abstract:
A large-diameter part, the diameter of which is larger than the diameter in the center, is provided at the edges of a rim via parts having a difference in a level. Curled parts are provided on both edges of the rim by curling the large-diameter part. Each end face of the curled parts is touched to the parts having a difference in a level. The rigidity of the side of the edge of the rim can be enhanced by providing the parts having a difference in a level to the rim. As a result, the rigidity of the whole wheel can be enhanced and in addition, as a disc and the rim are not required to be thickened, the weight of the wheel can be prevented from being increased.
Abstract:
A vehicle wheel with a one-piece rim and tubeless pneumatic tire comprises an emergency rolling surface on a radially exterior shell of the rim, an elastic bead, and a one-piece toroidal chamber at each axial front end of the rim. Each chamber includes a closed radially interior chamber wall, a closed radially exterior chamber wall, a closed axially interior chamber wall, and an axially exterior chamber wall axially closed in a radially exterior area defining a radially inwardly directed flange and open in a radially interior area. A filler ring is radially secured in each chamber on the radially interior chamber wall. Each side wall of the tire extends inwardly from the axially exterior wall through the opening, and the head is embedded in the chamber such that the bead lies across the axial extent of the filler ring, the head and the filler ring completely filling the chamber.
Abstract:
A method and equipment for manufacturing a light metal vehicle wheel that has a rim drop base and a club-shaped thickened portion extending axially outward. The club-shaped portion has a tread on its outside surface for use in case of flat tire and has rim horns at its outer end. The method and equipment include pressing the rim horns radially inward by compression rings of a mold die. A radial inner surface of the club-shaped thickened portion is machined by chip removal so as to form an undercut next to the rim horn.
Abstract:
A wheel rim includes a collar and a seat separate from the collar. Betweenhe collar and a bead, there is provided, axially in the mounting plane, a clearance which facilitates the mounting of the bead on the inside of the edges of the wheel rim. Then, the seat is inserted which eliminates the mounting clearance and keep the bead centered in relation to the wheel rim.
Abstract:
The vehicle wheel comprises a rim containing an external closed ring and an internal rim ring composed of three segments and connected to a segmentally separated or segment-shaped divided disc. The beads of the pneumatic tire lie in grooves disposed between the external closed ring and the internal rim ring. Each of these grooves is formed by a bead seat, a vertical web and the external closed ring. Due to the internal pressure of the air in the pneumatic tire, each tire bead is drawn against clamping surfaces of the associated groove and sealed in relation to the external closed ring.
Abstract:
A covering ring for a vehicle wheel. The bead seating surfaces of a tire are mounted on the radially inner periphery of the rim. In order to prevent dirt and/or water from entering the space between the tire bead and the rim well, the covering ring has a width which covers the space between the tire bead, that portion of the rim which extends axially outwardly from the rim well, and the rim well. Also provision is made that the radially inner surface of the covering ring, when viewed in the transverse direction, extends horizontally or is laterally inclined toward the outside. Also provision is made that the radially inner diameter of the covering ring at no point of the space, which is to be covered, be greater than the radially inner diameter of the mounted tire in the bead region.
