    摘要: A method of conducting a strike against a target using a designator and a missile. The following steps are conducted: (i) the designator designates the target using a first signal, such as a laser; (ii) the missile detects the laser reflected off the target; (iii) after detecting the reflected laser, the missile emits a second signal, such as a LADAR signal, to designate the target; (iv) the missile tracks the so-designated target; (v) the designator detects the LADAR signal reflected off the target; and (vi) in response to detecting the reflected LADAR signal, the designator stops the designation of the target. This may enable the designator to perform other tasks, while the missile tracks and engages the target.

    摘要: A handheld targeting device that includes a geolocating system and a laser targeting system is provided. The geolocating system includes a laser range finder operable to emit a first pulsed laser beam toward an object from the first end of the housing and receive a returned first pulsed laser beam to calculate a distance to a target. By combining the calculated distance with a compass direction and position of the targeting device, a location of the object can be calculated. The laser targeting system includes a laser targeting marker operable to emit a second pulsed laser beam toward the object from the first end of the housing. Other vehicles or weapons can detect the second pulsed laser beam for indication of or guidance to the target. In one aspect, the laser range finder can share an optical lens with a thermal imager that captures infrared images.

    摘要: A pulse repetition frequency detector, tracker, and decoder includes a two-dimensional InGaAs FPA of photodetectors configured to convert laser signals into electrical signals. A ROIC is operatively connected to the InGaAs FPA to condition electrical signals from the InGaAs FPA. A module is operatively connected to the ROIC to decode pulsed codes in the conditioned electrical signals and to provide output for tracking decoded laser spots in two-dimensional space. In another aspect, an imaging device includes an imager with an imaging FPA operatively connected to a first ROIC for imaging. A pulse repetition frequency detector, tracker, and decoder including a second ROIC as described above, is operatively connected to the first ROIC. The first and second ROICs are operatively connected to correlate the position of decoded laser spots in images from the imaging FPA.
