    摘要: A communication connector including elongated contacts, and an optional flexible compensation circuit. The elongated contacts include a plurality of contact pairs. Each pair includes first and second contacts configured to transmit a differential signal. The elongated contacts may each have first and second portions with first and second heights, respectively. The first height is greater than the second height. The first portion of the first contact is positioned alongside the first portion of the second contact to capacitively couple the first and second contacts together. The optional flexible compensation circuit includes compensation circuitry configured to at least partially reduce crosstalk between the elongated contacts.

    摘要: An environmentally sealed electrical housing assembly with an integrated connector and a method for manufacturing same is presented. The assembly includes a non-accessible electrical component, such an electromechanical relay, and a plurality of terminals connected to a circuit board. A dielectric housing encases the non-accessible electrical component. The housing is in intimate contact with the non-accessible electrical component, thereby sealing it from the environment. The housing defines an integral perimeter wall that surrounds the terminals, forming a connector shroud. Removable electrical components, such as fuse assemblies, may be attached to the terminals inside the shroud. When a sealed mating connector is attached to the housing, the removable components are also sealed from the environment. The assembly allows distribution of power switching functions and circuit protection to be distributed to a location near the electrical load instead of a central location, such as a bussed electrical center.

Each of the first and second insulated wires has a signal conductor and an insulation layer that surrounds the signal conductor. The cable assembly also includes a circuit carrier that is coupled to the communication cable and has first and second signal pathways. Each of the first and second signal pathways includes a leading conductive surface and a trailing conductive surface that are separated from each other. The signal conductors of the first and second insulated wires are coupled to the trailing conductive surfaces of the first and second signal pathways, respectively. Each of the first and second signal pathways includes a corresponding signal-control component that electrically couples the separated leading and trailing conductive surfaces.

    摘要: An exemplary connector insert assembly, and methods of manufacture and use thereof. In one embodiment, the connector insert assembly comprises an insert body assembly consisting of two insert body elements made from a high-temperature polymer. The insert body assembly includes an electronic component receiving cavity that is configured to receive any number of electronic components, including without limitation, chip chokes and wire wound electronic components. The insert body assembly includes a wire termination feature that includes termination slots that position the wire ends of the wire wound electronic components adjacent to a substrate to which the wire ends are ultimately to be secured. The wire ends are then secured to the substrate using, for example, a mass termination technique. The aforementioned connector insert assembly can then be inserted into a single or multi-port connector assembly. Methods of manufacturing the aforementioned single or multi-port connector assemblies are also disclosed.
