Abstract:
A magnetic hard disk drive comprising a magnetic disk and a magnetic head slider, characterized in that said magnetic head slider is coated with a layer having a contact angle of 50null or more when measured by using a lubricant coated on the magnetic disk, is free from start failure due to stiction caused by adhesion of the lubricant to the slider surface.
Abstract:
A method of masking at least one edge of a part of a surface that is to be treated, especially in a vehicle, includes the steps of using an adhesive masking strip made of an elongate cellular material resistant to a surface treatment and at least one adhesive region. The adhesive masking strip is a half ellipse having at least one groove, at least part of the wall of which groove has a region inclined by an angle of less than 45null with respect to the at least one adhesive region. The at least one adhesive region of the adhesive masking strip is applied to at least part of the edge of the surface that is to be treated, by an operator guiding said strip by inserting part of at least one finger in the groove. After the treatment, the adhesive strip is detached from the surface.
Abstract:
A film forming device forms a coated film on a substrate by discharging a liquid material in the form of liquid droplets, and causing the liquid droplets to impact on the substrate at a predetermined pitch. The predetermined pitch is determined based on the diameter of the liquid droplets after impact of the liquid droplets on the substrate. Drop marks are reduced and a uniform coated film is formed on the substrate.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating scanning probe microscopy (SPM) probes is disclosed. The probes are fabricated by forming a structural layer on a substrate, wherein the substrate forms a cavity. A sacrificial layer is located between the substrate and the structural layer. Upon forming the structural layer, the sacrificial layer is selectively removed, and the probe is then released from the substrate. The substrate may then later be reused to form additional probes. Additionally, a contact printing method using a scanning probe microscopy probe is also disclosed.
Abstract:
In a bumper and/or a bumper protective strip which are arranged tightly together in a finished position, holding apparatus are provided, with which the bumper protective strip is detachably fastenable to provide a spacing from the bumper with respect to the finished spacing. In a method for the painting of the combination of a bumper and with a bumper protective strip, the bumper and the bumper protective strip are before painting, secured together in a spaced relationship and are painted together. Thus, it is possible to paint bumper with bumper protective strips economically with exactly the same color hue and to transport them joined with one another.
Abstract:
Modified strain regions are created in correlation to strain reactive structures that are subjected to a predetermined dimensional precision adjustment. The modified strain regions are created by impacting incident particles into exposed regions of the strain reactive structures. The irradiation by the incident particles creates a predetermined material disruption and consequently a change in strain energy. The strain energy, and the associated dimensional adjustment is dependent on the irradiation process and the sum properties of the modified strain regions and the strain reactive structure.
Abstract:
The use of an adhesive tape for masking during painting and decorating applications, having a film backing material in which a tear can be propagated transversely with respect to the direction from which individual lengths of the tape are taken, on one side of said backing material an adhesive has been applied, the adhesive tape being colored and/or nontransparent and one or both longitudinal edges of the adhesive tape having over the entire area notches having a width of less than 1000 nullm and a depth of less than 100 nullm, the notches being irregularly arranged and of differing depth.
Abstract:
The subject invention relates to a synthetic fiber fabric having translucent printing (dyeing) patterns thereon. The subject invention also relates to a process for producing a synthetic fiber fabric having translucent printing (dyeing) patterns thereon, which includes a printing step prior to an etching step, wherein the printing step includes printing a paste for dyeing and/or printing containing a transparent printing developer onto a surface of the fabric.
Abstract:
The performance of a paint ball marker is improved by applying a permanent lubricating agent to selected working parts of the marker in place of petroleum-based lubricants using known processes for applying metals, ceramics, graphite and various polymers to such working parts.
