Abstract: A composition and method of forming a wellbore cement that includes a cross-linked polyamide. The polyamide is formed by reacting a di-functional amine with an aromatic tri-functional carboxylic acid. The wellbore cement composition is created by blending cement and water with the polyamide and then allowed to cure. Increases in compressive strength, Young's Modulus, and Poisson's Ratio of the cement were realized by adding the polyamide to the cement composition.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a shaped composite, comprising the preparation of a mixture into which fragments of mineral wool comprising a size comprising a sugar, a non-cement silica carrier distinct from the wool, a non-cement alkali metal carrier distinct from the wool, and water, are introduced, the non-cement silica carrier and the non-cement alkali metal carrier forming, with the water, a mineral binder which gradually solidifies around the solid particles present in the mixture, and then the shaping of the mixture into a shaped composite, in particular into briquettes. The invention also relates to a process for the manufacture of mineral wool, in which a molten mass is produced which is converted into mineral wool by means of a fiberizing device, the shaped composite being introduced as vitrifiable charge into a melting chamber, such as a cupola furnace.

Abstract: A jointless surface covering can be applied to building parts by a method and a device (2). A flow of a surface covering material (37, 92) and of an adhesive (94, 95) is sprayed onto an underlying plane which is situated on the building part. The surface covering material forms an insulation for the building part. Granules (92) are used for the surface covering material. The granules are misted with adhesive (94) and, carried by air, they reach an area to be covered, wherein the granules immediately adhere as a result of the adhesive, which undergoes a chain reaction. By virtue of the device (2), granules are supplied from a granules reservoir (8) and adhesive is supplied from an adhesive reservoir (46) and brought together in an air space via a nozzle assembly (60) in order to form the surface covering. A combing device (16) serves for separating granular particles (92), which pass into a flow channel (28) via a chute (24). In the flow channel, the granular particles are taken up by an air flow (36) from a fan (30) and fed to the air space.

Abstract: The invention described is a reinforced refractory fire containment wall panel, the panel cast from a reinforced refractory composition. The refractory composition contains cement, a binder, a matrix material comprising 300 series stainless steel fibers and organic fibers, and a refractory aggregate comprising aluminum oxide, calcium oxide, iron oxide and silicon dioxide or a combination thereof, and a reinforcing material. The invention also describes methods of making the reinforced refractory fire containment wall panel.

Abstract: The invention relates to a sintered highly porous body comprising at least one layer that is made of a material, which can be sintered and which contains fibers. The aim of the invention is to provide a body of the aforementioned type with improved burn-off properties and values for the flame adherence. To this end, the fibers used are curved on one and/or both sides and they have a principal axis that is shorter than approximately 1 mm and a secondary axis that is shorter than approximately 200 μm, whereby the principal axis is longer than the secondary axis. The invention also relates to a method for producing the sintered porous bodies and to the use thereof.
