Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for preparing full-gradient particle precursors, and the full-gradient particle precursor prepared thereby. By controlling different types of anion compositions and/or cation compositions gradually changed to other types, and adjusting the pH to match with the species, precipitated particles are deposited to form a slurry, collecting the precipitated particle, treating with water, and drying to yield the particle precursor. After being washed and dried, the particle precursor is further mixed with lithium source, after calcining to yield cathode active particles. The cathode active particles can be used to prepare cathode of lithium-ion battery.

Abstract: Provided is a binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery electrode that can inhibit electrode swelling associated with repeated charging and discharging while also causing a secondary battery to display excellent cycle characteristics. The binder composition contains a graft copolymer having a structure in which a branch polymer is bonded to a backbone polymer. The backbone polymer includes a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl monomer unit in a proportion of not less than 5 mass % and not more than 89 mass % and has a weight-average molecular weight of not less than 1.0×106 and not more than 2.0×107. The branch polymer includes a water-soluble monomer unit that is formed from a water-soluble monomer having a solubility of not less than 0.01 g/100 g-H2O and not more than 25 g/100 g-H2O at a temperature of 20° C.

Abstract: A positive electrode, which is an example of this secondary battery electrode, includes: a positive electrode core material; an electrically conductive adhesive layer disposed on the positive electrode core material; and a positive electrode mixture layer disposed on the adhesive layer. The positive electrode core material includes, at one end in a lateral direction of the positive electrode core material, an exposed portion where the adhesive layer and the positive electrode mixture layer are not disposed. An insulating protection layer that includes resin is disposed on the exposed portion of the one end. A predetermined gap is provided between the protective layer and an end surface of one end in the lateral direction of the adhesive layer.
