    摘要: Squeeze film damping systems and methods therefore are provided that include features for optimizing the damping response to vibrational loads experienced by a rotary component of a gas turbine engine. In one exemplary aspect, a damping system actively controls a dynamic sleeve to adjust the damping response. In particular, the dynamic sleeve is disposed within a chamber defined by a damper housing. The damping system controls the damper gap by translating the dynamic sleeve. When the dynamic sleeve is translated, a variable damper gap is varied, allowing for fluid to squeeze into or out of the damper gap, thereby adjusting the damping response to the vibration of the rotary component.

    摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a gas-lubricated bearing assembly for a gas turbine engine and method of damping same. The bearing assembly includes a bearing pad for supporting a rotary component and a bearing housing attached to or formed integrally with the bearing pad. The bearing housing includes a first fluid damper cavity, a second fluid damper cavity in restrictive flow communication with the first fluid damper cavity via a restrictive channel configured as a clearance gap, and a damper fluid configured within the first and second fluid damper cavities. More specifically, the damper fluid of the present disclosure is configured to withstand the high temperature environment of the engine. Thus, the bearing housing is configured to transfer the damper fluid from the first fluid damper cavity to the second fluid damper cavity via the restrictive channel in response to a force acting on the bearing pad.

    摘要: A boom mounting assembly for attachment to an agricultural application machine is provided. The assembly includes a boom support frame which is suspended from a primary frame mounted to a chassis. The boom support frame comprises a transverse beam for supporting an intermediate section of a fluid application boom. The suspension mechanism allows both yaw and pitch of boom support frame relative to the primary frame resulting from fore and aft forces on the boom. Dampers are each connected between the primary frame and the boom support frame at a position spaced from the transverse center of the assembly. Damping of pitch and asymmetrical yaw movement of the transverse beam away from a neutral position is controlled by the first and second dampers.
