Abstract: A playback method using a playback device that plays a system stream file is provided. The playback device includes an individual decryption key that is owned individually by each of playback devices, and a common decryption key that is owned in common by a plurality of playback devices. The system stream file includes a first system stream file configured to be played back using both the individual decryption key and the common decryption key, and a second system stream file configured to be played back using only the common decryption key among the individual decryption key and the common decryption key. The method includes identifying whether the system stream file to be playback is the first system stream file or the second system stream file, in accordance with a file extension of the system stream file, and selecting a decryption process of the system stream file.

Abstract: A memory storing AV data for playing back encrypted video on a playback device is provided. The AV data includes a system stream file including encrypted video information, and a management information file. The system stream file includes a first segment in which is repeated a first data unit that can be individually decrypted using a first decryption key, and has a second data unit of the same data size as the first data unit but cannot be decrypted by the first decryption key. The system stream file also includes a second segment which can all be decrypted using a second decryption key that the playback device has in common with another playback device. The management information file has a time map in which are correlated I-picture serving as random access point, and a presentation clock time of the I-picture. The I-picture is multiplexed in the second segment.

Abstract: A system includes a media device including a processor programmed to receive sensor data indicating a field of view of a user and adjust a field of view of a video capture device in the media device to correspond to the field of view of the user. The processor receives media data from the video capture device and stores the media data, together with metadata including time indicia for each segment in the media data. The processor further receives user input to generate a media content item based on the media data. The user input specifies a start time of the media content item. The processor generates the media content item from the media data, starting with the segment of the media data having a time stamp corresponding to the start time; and stores the media content item.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a system that facilitates access control. During operation, the system generates, by a first mobile computing device associated with a first user, a request to record information of a second user associated with a second mobile computing device. In response to receiving, from the second mobile computing device, an acceptance of the request, the system records, by the first mobile computing device, the information of the second user based on recording-related preferences of the second user. In response to receiving, from the second mobile computing device, a rejection of the request, the system precludes the first mobile computing device from recording the information of the second user, thereby facilitating intuitive and socially aligned access control.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed to blockchain and other authentication technology. In one example of the technology, a pre-determined type of blockchain or other authentication protocol code and a pre-determined type of consensus code are stored in a trusted execution environment (TEE) of a processor. In some examples, TEE attestation is used to verify that the blockchain or other authentication protocol code stored in the TEE is the pre-determined type of blockchain or other authentication protocol code, and to verify that the consensus code stored in the TEE is the pre-determined type of consensus code. A request to alter the pre-determined type of blockchain or other authentication protocol code may be received. A determination may be made as to whether to change the pre-determined type of blockchain or other authentication protocol code based on the pre-determined consensus code.
