Abstract:
A module rail for a photovoltaic system includes a module-supporting surface, and upper portion, and opposing vertical sidewalls. A first set of openings are spaced apart from one another along the length of the rail. Each of the openings in the first set extend through the upper portion for receiving a first set of fasteners for use in securing at least one photovoltaic module to the module rail. A second set of openings are spaced apart from one another along the length of the rail. Each of the openings in the second set extending through at least one of the module-supporting surface and one of the sidewalls for receiving a second set of fasteners for use in securing at least one photovoltaic module to the module rail.
Abstract:
A photovoltaic system includes a photovoltaic module including a plurality of photovoltaic cells, and a frame surrounding the photovoltaic cells. The frame includes a lower flange. A module rail includes a module-support portion supporting the lower flange of the photovoltaic module. A clip fastener defines a press-fit channel in which the lower flange of the photovoltaic module and the module-support portion of the module rail are press fit to secure the module to the module-support portion of the module rail.
Abstract:
A light source is combined with an optic and a reflector. Light incident onto to the reflector is reflected with a single reflection. The reflector occupies a portion of a solid angle around the light source to the exclusion of the optic at least with respect to any optical function. The reflector directly receives a second portion of light. The optic occupies substantially all of the remaining portion of the predetermined solid angle to directly receive a first portion of light from the light source. A reflected beam from the reflector is reflected into a predetermined reflection pattern. The inner and/or outer surface of the optic is shaped to refract or direct light which is directly transmitted into the optic from the light source from a first portion of light and/or reflected into the optic from the reflector from the reflected beam into a predetermined beam.
Abstract:
A load control device for improving energy efficiency of a heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system by controlling shed times of a compressor of the HVAC system. The load control device includes a compressor cutoff switch, a sensing circuit, and a processor. The processor determines a subsequent mandatory shed time based upon a previous shed time, a previous run time, and a minimum run time. A subsequent mandatory shed longer than the previous mandatory shed time causes a subsequent run time to be increased, thereby increasing system efficiency.
Abstract:
A magnetic component and a method for manufacturing a low profile, magnetic component. The method comprises the steps of providing at least one sheet, coupling at least a portion of at least one winding to the at least one sheet, and laminating the at least one sheet with at least a portion of the at least one winding. The magnetic component comprises at least one sheet and at least a portion of at least one winding coupled to the at least one sheet, wherein the at least one sheet is laminated to at least a portion of the at least one winding. The winding may comprise a clip, a preformed coil, a stamped conductive foil, or an etched trace using chemical or laser etching. The sheet may comprise any material capable of being laminated and/or rolled, including, but not limited to, flexible magnetic powder sheets.
Abstract:
An LED worklight includes a center core and a first panel and a second panel coupled to the center core. The first panel includes a first LED die package disposed within a first opening formed within the first panel and a first lens disposed over the first LED die package. The second panel includes features similar to the first panel. The second panel is rotatable around the center core from a zero degree closed orientation to about a 359 degree orientation, and is positionable at any intermediate angle therebetween. The first and second panels each include an attachment mechanism having an elastic band with a hook attached thereto. The attachment mechanisms are used to attach or hang the worklight to or around one or more objects. The attachment mechanisms are stored in the worklight such that the attachment mechanisms do not interfere with its operation when not in use.
Abstract:
Magnetic components including pre-formed clips are described that are more amenable to production on a miniaturized scale. Discrete core pieces can be assembled with pre-formed coils and physically gapped from one another with more efficient manufacturing techniques.
Abstract:
A double hinge assembly is described including a center wing having a first center wing barrel portion and a second center wing barrel portion, a barrel pin, and a swing panel including a swing panel barrel portion, where the swing panel barrel portion and the second center wing barrel portion are adjoined by the barrel pin to form a first pivot about a first axis. Further aspects of the double hinge assembly include the first and second center wing barrel portions being formed respectively at two opposing edges of the center wing, the center wing including a tab at one end, and the tab projecting perpendicularly outward with respect to major sides of the center wing.
Abstract:
An enclosure described herein satisfies the requirements of a NEMA 4X enclosure, and is capable of being used in food and beverage plants, and other washdown environments. The enclosure includes a housing and a removable cover coupled to the enclosure. The cover is flush with the housing, and both the housing and the cover have a smooth exterior finish. A sealing gasket having a thickness greater than the cover is positioned between the cover and the housing. The enclosure generally houses at least one switch therein. The cover includes a handle and switch mechanism that controls the switch(es) when the cover is coupled to the housing.
Abstract:
A modular fuse holder includes a cover that is movable from a closed position to an open position relative to a base along two different paths of motion to prevent inadvertent opening or closing of the cover.
