Abstract:
Information for configuring control apparatus for a power system including a plurality of controlled power supplies is produced using a graphical interface which displays the topology and sequencing of the power supplies in the power system. A database is used to select power supplies to add in determining the power system topology. Sequencing is represented by displacing icons representing the power supplies along lines representing their input and output voltages, and arrows representing startup sequence dependencies. A processor produces the configuration information, consistent with the displayed topology and sequencing, using information for the selected power supplies from the database, for downloading to the control apparatus.
Abstract:
An antibacterial personal care composition comprising at least one surfactant and at least one pH modifier said composition having a pH in the range of from 3.5 to 6.0. The composition further comprises at least one cationic polymer such that the composition is selectively active against transient bacteria relative to resident bacteria.
Abstract:
A method for control of packet data transmissions in a TDMA wireless network to provide for additional choices in the allocation of communication channels. The fixed relationship in the timing of the downlink allocation signalling and subsequent uplink transmission is altered for certain classes of mobile station to avoid physical constraints. Examples of variations in USF signalling in GPRS are given.
Abstract:
The present invention utilizes genetic engineering techniques to prepare non-human transgenic mammals that express human .alpha.-lactalbumin in their milk at a concentration of 2 mg/ml or greater. The invention also includes methods of preparing human .alpha.-lactalbumin in, for example, mice and cows. Also taught are methods for preparing human .alpha.-lactalbumin in which from one to four of its natural phenylalanine residues have been substituted by another amino acid.
Abstract:
A brake release for railroad cars allows all the brakes of a train to be released automatically instead of by the conventional, car by car method. The crewmember releasing the brakes does so by merely adjusting the air pressure in the train's air brake line to a predetermined level. The brake release system's valves open at this pressure allowing the system to be pressurized. This pressure provides the force needed to release the brakes when the pressure in the train's air brake line is released. The system then resets itself and is ready for its next use. This system can be installed on a rail car without interfering with the conventional method of releasing the brakes.
Abstract:
A vertical DMOS or IGBT cell structure with an integral operating condition sensor provided by a sensor region forming a PN junction 65 with an adjacent region of the cell and having a sensor region contact 75 for conducting a test current without interfering with normal operation of the cell.
Abstract:
Embodiments may comprise a personal cargo device. According to some embodiments a personal cargo device may include an elongate strip defining a band, and the band may include fastening means at either end so that the ends may be joined. Furthermore, the bands may have at least one lateral fastening means disposed along the length of the band which is adapted to engage a hanging cargo member. A hanging cargo member may be so dimensioned as to substantially cover and/or protect a thigh of a wearer, and may include one or more integrated storage means. An integrated storage means may be closable with a closure flap, which may be removable from an embodiment.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of handover from an active network to a selected one of a plurality of potential other networks. In addition to the overall solution, the solution proposed has several individual aspects. All subsidiary aspects are related to the common problem mentioned above and sharing the underlying common solution concept of implementing a system in which selective handover is possible and in which a list of available other networks provided by an active network can be handled and selection made by a terminal, so that neighbor cell information can be transmitted based on expressed terminal preferences.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a method to synthesize microporous crystalline material comprising a metal containing chabazite having a crystal size greater than 0.5 microns and a silica-to-alumina ratio (SAR) between 5 and 15, wherein the method is carried out without the use of an organic structural directing agent and without requiring calcination. There is also disclosed a large crystal organic free chabazite made according to the disclosed method. In addition, there are disclosed methods of using the disclosed crystalline material, such as in the selective catalytic reduction of NOx in exhaust gases.
