摘要: The present inventors found that in human cells, synthetic small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) targeted to a region containing the CpG islands on gene promoters will specifically induce the methylation of CpG sequences within the target region or adjacent regions. Methylation of the promoters results in suppression at a transcriptional level of expression of genes downstream of the promoters. The present invention provides methods for inducing DNA methylation using the siRNAs, and methods for suppressing gene expression based on siRNA-directed methylation of promoters. The present invention also provides DNA methylation-inducing agents or gene expression-suppressing agents that comprise siRNAs or expression vectors for the siRNAs or dsRNAs.

摘要: A method for warning deflation of tires which can detect the deflation of 2 wheels at the same axle including a following axle, the simultaneous deflation of 4 wheels or the abrasion of tires only by the information of wheel speeds is provided. The method comprises the steps of: detecting the rotational information of each of tires; calculating and storing wheel speeds, vehicle accelerations, slip ratios of front and rear wheels, traveling distances and radius of traveling circle from the rotational information of said respective tires; calculating moving average of the vehicle accelerations and the slip ratios of front and rear wheels; accumulating the traveling distances and storing the moving averages of the vehicle accelerations and the slip ratios of front and rear wheels; determining regression coefficient and correlation coefficient of the slip ratio of front and rear wheels on the vehicle acceleration; determining the slip ratio of front and rear wheels when the vehicle acceleration is zero; determining whether the pressures of at least 2 wheels at the same axle or 4 wheels are simultaneously reduced or not, based on the regression coefficients and the slip ratio of front and rear wheels while the vehicle acceleration is zero; and warning deflation of tires.

摘要: A fluorescent display device of the plane grid type capable of reducing accumulation of charges on an insulating layer, to thereby prevent an electron shading phenomenon and permit electrons emitted from a filament toward anode electrodes to be uniformly spread in a plane-like manner on both sides of the filament. A first substrate is formed thereon with stripe-like thin-film anode electrodes and stripe-like thin-film grids in a matrix-like manner through a thin-film insulating layer. The insulating layer and grids are formed with openings. Phosphors are deposited on portions of the anode electrodes exposed through the openings. The grids are formed into a height equal to or smaller than that of the phosphors. A second substrate is formed thereon with back electrodes for controlling emission of electrons from filaments. Control voltages applied to the back electrodes have a potential gradient given thereto so that a potential difference occurs between a position near the filaments and a position apart therefrom.

摘要: Provided are a rotor of a motor capable of attaining a high-speed rotation by appropriately dispersing a stress exerted on a flux barrier portion while reducing a leakage of magnetic flux, and a fan driving motor including the rotor. A second inner wall surface is greater than a first inner wall surface in length in a cross-section perpendicular to a rotational axis (C). A side wall surface has a flux barrier wall surface extending from each of both ends of the second inner wall surface in the cross-section perpendicular to the rotational axis (C), the flux barrier wall surface extending outward relative to the second inner wall surface in an extending direction of the second inner wall surface and more distant from an outer edge of a rotor as it goes from the second inner wall surface toward the first inner wall surface in the cross-section perpendicular to the rotational axis (C).
