The MAC slot boundaries are averaged in time, and a local slot boundary is modified in response thereto. The local MAC slot boundary is modified by less than ten percent of a short interframe space until the local MAC slot boundary is within one orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) cyclic prefix duration of the averaged MAC slot boundaries.

A MAC Layer device outputs information related to a congestion condition of a wireless link and information related to a Round Trip Time (RTT) of an end-to-end connection of the wireless link, the wireless link being for communicating data generated by an application operating on the device, and comprising a source rate of data generated by the application and a Packet Inter-arrival Time (PIT) for the data generated by the application. A rate controller determines a source rate of the application and/or the PIT based on the information related to the congestion condition of the wireless link and the information related to the RTT of the end-to-end connection of the wireless link.

    摘要: A wireless local access network (WLAN) radio listens for a beacon for a listening duration on each of multiple channels. Periodically, the WLAN radio changes the channel on which the WLAN radio listens for a beacon. The WLAN radio rotates through all channels until an entire beacon period is listened to. The number of iterations is chosen to minimize the overlap of successive listening durations. The WLAN radio can detect a beacon by detecting an incomplete portion of a beacon.

    摘要: A radio transmitter select its operating frequency based on the frequency characteristics of a collocated receiver and clock harmonics. The radio transmitter can dynamically change its operating frequency in a wide enough range so as to avoid frequencies where its spurs fall on the receive frequency of the collocated receiver. The frequency characteristics of the clock harmonic of the radio transmitter and the collocated receiver are obtained, then a range of operating frequencies is calculated to enable the collocated devices to operate without undue interference.
