An illustrative method includes initiating an acoustic link with the IMD, measuring an initial performance of the acoustic link, determining whether the initial performance of the acoustic link is adequate, adjusting an operating parameter related to the acoustic link in the event the initial performance of the acoustic link is inadequate, measuring a performance of the acoustic link in response to the adjusted operating parameter, and setting the operating parameter to a prior setting if the measured performance of the acoustic link does not improve in response to the adjusted operating parameter.

    摘要: This document discusses, among other things, an apparatus and method for implantably acquiring a wideband signal. The apparatus comprises an implantable device including at least one physiological sensor configured to sense physiological signals having a low frequency component and a high frequency component. The implantable device includes a sampling circuit configured to sample at a sampling rate that is lower in frequency than twice the highest frequency of the second frequency component of the physiological signal. The implantable or external signal postprocessing module can be communicatively coupled to the sampling circuit to receive the set of samples, and configured to process the set of samples to use an information of interest intentionally aliased from the second frequency component of the physiological signal.

    摘要: An implantable medical device includes a dual-use sensor such as a single accelerometer that senses an acceleration signal. A sensor processing circuit processes the acceleration signal to produce an activity level signal and a heart sound signal. The implantable medical device provides for rate responsive pacing in which at least one pacing parameter, such as the pacing interval, is dynamically adjusted based on the physical activity level. The implantable medical device also uses the heart sounds for pacing control purposes or transmits a heart sound signal to an external system for pacing control and/or diagnostic purposes.

    摘要: A bandgap voltage reference circuit implemented on an integrated circuit chip in which a proportional-to-temperature current is controlled by a current controlling resistor and converted to a voltage by a voltage controlling resistor, with either or both of the resistors being an integrated on-chip digitally trimmable resistor. The reference circuit is particularly suitable for application to circuitry used in implantable medical devices where off-chip resistors provide a channel by which noise can interfere with the operation of the circuit. The on-chip digitally trimmable resistor is implemented in accordance with the invention by a programmable switch matrix connected to a resistor network.
