摘要: A method of manufacturing a multilayer heat-shrinkable, puncture-resistant biaxially oriented film is disclosed. The method includes a double bubble orientation step and extruding a primary tube that includes at least one substantially linear ethylene homopolymer or interpolymer, wherein the substantially linear ethylene homopolymer or interpolymer has an uniform branching distribution, a melt flow ratio, I.sub.10 /I.sub.2,.gtoreq.5.63, and a molecular weight distribution, M.sub.w /M.sub.n, defined by the equation M.sub.w /M.sub.n .ltoreq.(I.sub.10 /I.sub.2)-4.63, and is also characterized as having essentially no linear polymer fraction, a single DSC melting peak, a density greater than about 0.85 g/cc, and a favorable gas extrusion critical shear rate at the onset of surface melt fracture.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide an impact modified composition comprising ethylene/α-olefin interpolymers. The ethylene/α-olefin interpolymers are characterized by an average block index, ABI, which is greater than zero and up to about 1.0 and a molecular weight distribution, Mw/Mn, greater than about 1.3. In addition or alternatively, the block ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer is characterized by having at least one fraction obtained by Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation (“TREF”), wherein the fraction has a block index greater than about 0.3 and up to about 1.0 and the ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer has a molecular weight distribution, Mw/Mn, greater than about 1.4.

摘要: Biaxially oriented, heat-shrinkable film-making process and film with improved toughness and extrusion processibility are disclosed. The improved film comprises at least one layer of at least one substantially linear ethylene homopolymer or interpolymer, wherein the substantially linear ethylene polymer has an uniform branching distribution, and is also characterized as having essentially no linear polymer fraction, a single DSC melting peak, a density greater than about 0.85 g/cc, and a simple bubble film 1% secant modulus below 195,000 kPa. The biaxially oriented film is characterized as having a simple bubble shrinkage value of from about 18% to about 85% at 135.degree. C. and is useful in preparing heat-shrink bags for packaging food articles like poultry and fresh red meat.

摘要: A blend of chlorinated polyethylene with two or more different ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers is provided. The blend produces a membrane which is suitable for use in single-ply roofing applications. One ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer has a polymerized vinyl acetate content of from about 38 to about 60 percent by weight of copolymer. A second ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer has a polymerized vinyl acetate content of from about 13 to about 27 percent of weight of copolymer.

A crosslinked composition made by heating one or more of the inventive compositions is also provided. Articles made from one or more of the inventive compositions are also provided.
