The hybrid management circuit is structured to: determine a SOH adjustment factor based on the SOH of the energy storage device; determine a first torque output for a genset based on the SOH adjustment factor and the SOC of the energy storage device, the genset including an engine and a first motor-generator; and operate the genset to provide the first torque output and to generate an amount of energy for a second motor-generator to meet the torque demand according to the SOH adjustment factor.

The route circuit is structured to estimate a number of charging locations for an energy storage system of a vehicle for a planned route. The stop-start circuit is structured to determine a stop-start strategy for an engine of the vehicle based on the estimated number of charging locations and expected charges to be received by the energy storage system. The stop-start strategy defines a frequency and duration of using the engine in an on-mode during operation of the vehicle along the planned route. The stop-start circuit is further structured to determine that the energy storage system fails to receive an expected charge at one of the charging locations, and update the stop-start strategy to compensate for failing to receive the expected charge by increasing use of the engine in the on-mode during operation of the vehicle along the planned route.

The target power margin represents a difference between the minimum SOC threshold and an ending power level of the energy storage supply (124) after completion of a mission associated with the electric vehicle (102).
