Described is a novel process for the introduction of an organic acyl radical selectively at the nitrogen atom of the amino group of desferrioxamine B or of a partially O-acylated derivative thereof. It comprises treating a derivative of desferrioxamine B, in which the amino nitrogen and the hydroxy oxygen of at least one of the hydroxamic acid groupings carries an organic silyl group, with an organic acylating agent and then removing the silyl groups present. The novel N- and O-silylated starting materials can be manufactured, preferably in situ, by reacting an appropriate derivative of desferrioxamine B that has at least one hydroxy group and the amino group in free form, with an organic silicon halide.

A process for producing a synthesis gas containing methane and using a reactor having a fuel containing carbon comprises directing gasification gases in a circulation system through a bed of fuel containing carbon to form a synthesis gas containing methane and carbon dioxide. Thereafter, the synthesis gas is cooled in a regenerator and subjected to the gas separation wherein the syngas is subjected to a gas cleansing by means of a pressure change absorption in a gas scrubber to remove most of the methane and carbon dioxide and its water content is increased. The separated gas is then heated and subsequently the portion is returned into the system together with the waste gases and fuel containing carbon. The process includes a 4-pole heater which includes the first heat exchange passage for the syngas which is cooled and a second heat exchange passage for the recirculation of the syngas and is further cooled and passed through a scrubber. The system includes a heater which is arranged after the 4-pole heater which operates the gas and then the gas is passed through a reduction reactor back through a heating element of the regenerator that initially cooled the gas. A portion of the gas is also used to drive a steam turbine and to direct the excess steam from the turbine into the initial reactor which has a fluidized bed of the carbon material such as coal.

The invention relates to a method for cold gas spraying in which a spray powder containing photocatalytically active spray particles is accelerated by means of a carrier gas in a nozzle and forms a coating upon striking a substrate. According to the invention, the method is characterized in that at least one part of the photocatalytically active spray particles consists of nanocrystalline agglomerates having a porosity of 200 to 800 m2/g, the porosity being determined by means of a BHT measurement with nitrogen. Coatings produced with the method according to the invention and objects having such a coating are also claimed.

The load element is monitored by a control device using a calculated load temperature parameter. During a first operational phase, a power loss of the load element or a quantity that is essentially proportional thereto is evaluated for calculating the load temperature parameter. During one or more stand-by phases, the control device is switched with essentially no current between the first operational phase and a second operational phase. After the control device is switched on in the second operational phase, at least one quantity, which is characteristic for the moment of switching on, is evaluated for calculating the existing load temperature parameter.

A cooling plate for shaft furnaces, in particular, for blast furnaces, provided with a refractory lining, comprising cooling channels loadable with a cooling medium, wherein at least the front side facing the interior of the furnace is comprised of an ingot, produced preferably of copper or a low-alloy copper alloy and provided with grooves for receiving refractory material, is to be further developed such that it can be produced with a minimal material expenditure and a minimal manufacturing expenditure and can be easily mounted, and that with it a higher cooling capacity with reduced cooling medium throughput can be realized, wherein the own heat uptake is limited such that a significantly longer service life can be obtained. For this purpose it is suggested that two through-shaped rolled sections with their domed areas facing outwardly, respectively, are welded together and that bores for receiving the ends of pipe connector pieces are introduced into the backside supplemental section and the ends welded thereto, and that the free ends of the rolled sections are closed off by caps.
