摘要: The instant disclosure is directed to seamless filtration media and methods for their use. A medium may comprise at least one seamless filtration component, which may comprise a plurality of bonded polymeric fibers and have a porosity from about 60% to about 95%. The medium may comprise multiple, concentrically arranged seamless filtration components, each having a hollow cylindrical configuration. A method of filtering a fluid stream may comprise placing such a medium in the fluid stream, thereby removing particles from the fluid stream. The at least one seamless filtration component of the medium may comprise a plurality of bonded polymeric fibers and have a porosity from about 60% to about 95%. The fluid stream may have a temperature of up to about 150° C. and the particles may have an average diameter from about 0.1 μm to about 5 μm. The fluid stream may be located within a CCV system.

摘要: Coatings applicable to a variety of substrate articles, structures, materials, and equipment are described. In various applications, the substrate includes metal surface susceptible to formation of oxide, nitride, fluoride, or chloride of such metal thereon, wherein the metal surface is configured to be contacted in use with gas, solid, or liquid that is reactive therewith to form a reaction product that is deleterious to the substrate article, structure, material, or equipment. The metal surface is coated with a protective coating preventing reaction of the coated surface with the reactive gas, and/or otherwise improving the electrical, chemical, thermal, or structural properties of the substrate article or equipment. Various methods of coating the metal surface are described, and for selecting the coating material that is utilized.

摘要: An automatically cleanable milk filter includes a cylindrical housing with an outer wall, a first end with a first liquid connection, and above a second end with a second liquid connection. A concentric cylindrical filter part and a cylindrical core placed concentrically within the filter part are accommodated in the housing. The filter part includes wire having a tapered cross-sectional profile in a spiral shape or as a series of parallel rings or rods, and a frame for keeping them spaced apart, thereby forming a plurality of filter openings. The filter part divides the filter volume into a first volume part which is directly connected to the first liquid connection, and a second volume part which is directly connected to the second liquid connection. The second volume part includes a cylindrical part, as well as a top part which narrows at a transition to the second liquid connection.

摘要: A metal foam-based filtration system and method for removing sub-micron particles and contaminants from a gas or fluid flow with the use of ultralow density metal nanowire meshes that have nanometer to micron scale pores for trapping air/fluid-borne particulates. Filters can use metal foams and coated metal foams alone or in tandem. The size and density of pores in the foam can be adjusted with synthesis conditions. Foams with pore size gradients promote the trapping of different sized particulates at different regions of a foam. Multiple rounds of electrodeposition increase the surface area and curvature of a nanowire mesh and strengthen the mesh. A metal and/or a coated metal foam can act as a catalyst or substrate for absorption or adsorption. Varying certain parameters can also impact the quality of the foam. Additionally, nanoparticles of about 300 nm in size can be directly incorporated into the foams.

摘要: Filter media having a relatively small pore size and related components, systems, and methods associated therewith are provided. The filter media may include a fibrous efficiency layer, a fibrous support layer, and a third layer adjacent to the efficiency layer. The efficiency layer may impart a relatively homogeneous pore structure to the filter media without adding substantial bulk to the filter media. The support layer may promote the homogeneity of the pore structure. For example, the support layer may prevent and/or minimize defects in the relatively thin efficiency layer that may result from manufacturing and/or processing. The third layer may serve to impart beneficial filtration (e.g., efficiency, dust holding capacity) and/or non-filtration (e.g., layer protection) properties to the filter media without adversely affecting one or more properties of the filter media. Filter media, as described herein, may be particularly well-suited for applications that involve liquid filtration, amongst other applications.

摘要: A filter comprising a plurality of metal fibers having a non-round cross section, in particular a rectangular, quadric, partial circular or an elliptical cross section, with the cross section comprising a large axis and a small axis, wherein a ratio of the small axis to the large axis lies in the range of 0.99 to 0.05. The invention further relates to a treatment method for metal fibers comprising an elliptical or rectangular cross section, both having a large axis and a small axis, wherein a ratio of a length of the small axis to a length of the large axis is smaller than 1, preferably smaller than 0.5, wherein the treatment method comprises the step of heating the fibers (10) in an oven to a temperature value in ° C. between 70 and 95% of the melting temperature in ° C., such that the ratio of the length of the small axis (D2) to the length of the large axis (D1) increases, preferably to the range of 0.05 to 0.99, wherein the metal fibers (10) are at least a part of a filter according to the invention.

摘要: A textile and a method of making the same comprising a microplastic collection layer, a microplastic capture layer, and a water resistant protection layer. The microplastic collection outer layer includes a plurality of openings therein for collecting microplastics from a body of water. The microplastic attraction and capture middle layer attracts and captures the microplastics collected by the microplastic collection outer layer. The water resistant protection layer protects a wearer's skin against the microplastics captured by the microplastic attraction and capture middle layer.
