摘要: A method and apparatus for the ablation of hard biological material, such hard dental material, using a rapidly pulsed laser employ a crystal disposed in the propagation path of the laser radiation, the crystal being disposed at the laser output and serving as an interface with an optical conductor which conveys the laser radiation to the treatment site. The crystal smooths the time/intensity characteristics of the pulsed laser radiation to the extent that transmission to the treatment site using optical wave guides is possible. Additional protective features are provided to prevent the ablated biological material to destroy the exposed optical end surfaces of the treatment applicator. Additional design features improve the ergonomic efficiency of the handpiece and its ability to be sterilized.

摘要: The invention contemplates dose-integrating instrumentation which relies upon continuously monitoring the illuminance level of a small sampling fraction of the total projected-light flux of the field-illuminating system of an operating microscope, the sampling being optionally within the projection system, or taken elsewhere. The sampled illuminance is in the form of an electrical signal which is continuously time-integrated to provide a continuous display of the dosage as it builds in the course of an operative procedure. Provision is made for the surgeon to preset what he chooses to be the safe upper limit of integrated exposure, beyond which he does not wish to go for fear of possible jeopardy to the retina of his patient, and the instrument continuously indicates the remaining time for him to complete his operation, should he continue at the current level of illumination. The instrument also provides a succession of different indications throughout the progress of the operation, as successive predetermined thresholds of building dosage (exposure) are reached.

摘要: A flat-weft knitting machine for producing a weft-and-warp-knit fabric, e.g., a stitch knitting machine, employs a weft yarn insertion device, which moves backward and forward, for constantly guiding a continuous thread or yarn group. The insertion device transfers one weft yarn group of the yarn group to first and second weft yarn conveyor means. The weft yarn group is then separated from the insertion device and the yarn group. The weft yarn group thus has free ends at both ends and is then conveyed by the weft yarn conveyor means to a looping point, for connection with loop-forming warp yarns to form a fabric.

Compounds I are prepared by reacting the corresponding 2,3-dihydroxycyclohex-2-en-1-one with an amine HN(R.sup.3)R.sup.4 or a mineral acid salt thereof.

摘要: The invention relates to an optical module, comprising a semiconductor element having a surface that is sensitive to electromagnetic radiation and an objective for projecting electromagnetic radiation onto the sensitive surface of the semiconductor element (image sensor or camera chip, in particular CCD or CMOS). The objective preferably comprises at least one lens and one lens retainer. In the optical module, an optical element having two sub-areas is arranged either in the space between the objective and the sensitive surface of the semiconductor element or between individual lenses of the objective in the entire cross-section of the beam path. All electromagnetic radiation that reaches the sensitive surface of the semiconductor element passes through the optical element.A first distance range (e.g. near range) is imaged in a first area of the sensitive surface of the semiconductor element in a focused manner by a first sub-area of the optical element, and a second distance range (e.g. far range) is imaged in a second area of the sensitive surface of the semiconductor element by a second sub-area.
