    摘要: A cooling device for cooling an electronic component. The device has an enclosure adapted to contain a liquid coolant. The enclosure has an internal channel system comprising a cavity adjacent the electronic component, a first group of arborizing channels adapted to carry the liquid coolant away from the cavity, a second group of arborizing channels adapted to carry the liquid coolant to the cavity, and a plenum fluidically connecting the first and seconds groups of arborizing channels. Each group of arborizing channels has a parent branch and multiple successive sets of daughter branches with successively smaller cross-sectional areas, wherein the sum of the cross-sectional areas of the daughter branches of any set is approximately the same as that of its parent branch. Distal sets of the daughter branches are most distant from the cavity, fluidically connected to the plenum, and have the smallest cross-sectional areas of the daughter branches.

The system main memory includes first and second memory slots, a volatile memory subsystem having at least one DRAM-based memory module received in the first memory slot and addressed by the central processing unit, and a nonvolatile memory subsystem having at least a first nonvolatile-based memory module in the second memory slot and addressed by the central processing unit. At least one memory controller is integrated onto the central processing unit for controlling the processor cache, the volatile memory subsystem, and the nonvolatile memory subsystem.

    摘要: A memory module adapted for installation in an open memory socket on a mainboard of a computer. The memory module includes a substrate with an edge connector comprising pins along an edge of the substrate, and at least one memory package mounted to the substrate and containing a memory die electrically connected to input/output leads located along the perimeter of the memory package and through which data signals are transmitted to and from the memory die. Data signal lines electrically connect a plurality of the input/output leads of the memory package to a plurality of the pins of the edge connector. Termination resistors individually electrically connect each of the data signal lines to ground, a supply voltage, or a reference voltage of the memory package so as to reduce noise and signal reflections through the data signal lines.

    摘要: A test-ahead feature for non-volatile memory-based mass storage devices to anticipate device failure. The test-ahead feature includes a method performed with a solid-state mass storage device having a controller, a cache memory, and at least one non-volatile memory device. At least a first block is reserved on the at least one non-volatile memory device as a wear-indicator block and a plurality of second blocks are used for data storage. Information is stored corresponding to the number of write and erase cycles encountered by the second blocks during usage of the mass storage device, and the information is accessed to perform wear leveling among the second blocks. The wear-indicator blocks are subjected to an offset number of write and erase cycles in excess of the number of write and erase cycles encountered by the second blocks, after which an integrity check of the first block is performed.
