    摘要: Provided is a thin film magnetic head capable of ensuring the strength of a perpendicular magnetic field and improving recording performance. A bottom pole portion layer and a top pole portion layer constituting a part of a main magnetic pole are formed so that a cross sectional area of a complex including front end portions of the bottom pole portion layer and the top pole portion layer is smaller than a cross sectional area of a complex including rear end portions thereof, and a width of a top edge in an exposed surface is larger than a width of a bottom edge, and is equal to or larger than a width of the exposed surface in a middle position between the top edge and the bottom edge. In recording, magnetic fluxes flowing in a main magnetic pole are focused toward an air bearing surface, and are concentrated on the front end portion of the top pole portion layer which is a main emitting portion of the magnetic fluxes, so sufficient magnetic fluxes can be supplied to the air bearing surface.

    摘要: A lubricating system for a 4-cycle engine reduces overall engine size and number of parts, and simplifies engine structure. The engine includes a side cover bonded to the crankcase defining a first valve-operating chamber, and a head cover bonded to the cylinder block defining a second valve-operating chamber. Oil reservoir chambers are formed in the crankcase and the side cover. Oil supply passages are provided in the crankshaft to permit a portion of each oil reservoir chamber below an oil surface therein to communicate with the crank chamber so that the oil passed through the oil supply passages is scattered by rotation of the crankshaft to produce an oil mist. The crank chamber communicates with the first valve-operating chamber through a one-way valve. A recovery bore opens into the second valve-operating chamber for recovering oil and communicates with each of the oil reservoir chambers above the oil surface.

The yoke portion layer magnetically connects the upper end of the coupling portion and the rear end surface of the pole portion layer to each other.

    摘要: In an engine starter including a solenoid device for actuating a switch for the electric motor and to drive the pinion into mesh with the ring gear of an internal combustion engine, the solenoid device includes an armature outer member which moves in the direction to push out the pinion against the spring force of a first return spring in the energized state of the solenoid device, and an armature inner member which is resiliently urged by a second return spring, and is telescopically disposed with respect to the armature outer member with a coil spring interposed coaxially between them. An annular spring retainer is press fitted into the inner bore of the armature outer member to receive a corresponding coil end of the coil spring. The spring retainer is stamp formed from non-magnetic material so as to have cylindrical portion which is fitted into the bore of the armature inner member, a flange portion which is bent perpendicularly from the cylindrical portion in the manner of an inwardly directed flange in its installed state, and a guide piece portion which is bent perpendicularly with respect to the axial direction from the free end of the flange portion. The forming of the armature outer member is thereby simplified, and the guide piece portion supports the coil spring with a centering action. More importantly, the spring retainer which may be made of non-magnetic material can prevent any significant leakage of magnetic flux from the spring retainer.

Thus, when pressed against the brush holder stay by the motor casing, the cover is deformed and made straight to produce a resilient restoring force, whereby increasing the pressing force to ensure sufficient watertight sealing effect.
