摘要: Polymerization catalyst consisting essentially of treated silica support and zerovalent chromium compound is provided, as well as process for preparation and polymerization process with the invention catalyst. Silica treatment involves contacting a predominantly silica-containing support with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of Group IIA oxide or compounds convertible to the oxide form, a Group VA or VB oxide or compounds convertible to the oxide form or sulfuric acid, and calcining prior to contacting the treated support with a zerovalent chromium compound, thereby producing an active polymerization catalyst.

摘要: A triangular space station deployable in orbit. The framework is comprised of three trusses, formed of a pair of generally planar faces comprised of foldable struts which expand and lock into rigid structural engagement forming a repetition of equilateral triangles and non-folding diagonal struts interconnecting the two faces. The struts are joined together by node fittings. The framework can be packaged into a size and configuration which can be transported by a space shuttle orbiter in a single orbital flight and when deployed, provides large work/construction area and ample planar surface area for solar panels and thermal radiators. A plurality of modules are secured to the framework and then joined by tunnels to comprise an interconnected modular array disposed along the free edges of the framework. Thruster units for space station orientation and altitude maintenance are provided. The triangular space station provides a structurally stable unit having sufficiently high structural integrity and natural frequency for facilitating docking, satellite servicing and launch operations.

摘要: A system includes a plurality of inputs each configured to receive a filtered version of a source signal. The system extracts the energy information from each input signal and compares the energy information of a plurality of input signals. Alternatively, the system extracts energy information from a signal that is the difference of two input signals. Based on the energy information, the system determines at least one parameter that may be changed in at least one circuit in a plurality of circuits to minimize the differences in energy of the input signals or to minimize the energy of the difference signal. Parameters may include for example amplification, delay, and corner frequency values.The set of circuits may include microphone interface circuits. Merely by way of example, a system with microphone interface circuits may be included in a hearing enhancement device or in a hands-free earpiece.

摘要: A fire detection system includes a detection tube and a sensing device. The detection tube contains a sensing fluid having a first physical condition and a second physical condition. The sensing fluid is in the first physical condition below a temperature threshold, and is in the second physical condition above the temperature threshold. The sensing fluid is at least partially liquid in the first physical condition. The sensing device is movable to open in response to a transition of a portion of the sensing fluid from the first physical condition to the second physical condition.

摘要: In one exemplary embodiment, a programmable analog array (PAA) contains a configurable analog matrix having two floating-gate field effect transistors (FETs). Also contained in the PAA is an interconnect circuit that is programmable to configure the configurable analog matrix to operate in one or more of several matrix modes. A few examples of such matrix modes include a switching matrix mode, a memory matrix mode, and a computing matrix mode. In an exemplary method of configuring the PAA. PAA, the the method includes programming an interconnection, for example, between a first terminal of the first floating-gate FET and a first terminal of the second floating-gate FET. The method further includes programming an interconnection, for example, between a gate terminal of the first floating-gate FET and a fixed voltage source, for setting a floating gate charge on the first floating-gate FET.

摘要: An apparatus and process for the micro juxtaposition is set forth where a selectively activatable surface is maintained spaced apart from the tissue sample and juxtaposed to the tissue sample by activation. In the typical case, activation occurs by laser radiation with the material of the activatable surface thermally expanding and bringing about the desired micro juxtaposition. The disclosed micro juxtapositioning can cause locally and microscopically pressure on tissue sample, insertion to the tissue sample, or contact of an activated or prepared surface to the tissue sample.
