    摘要: In block copolymers of the general formula A--B--A' which have a molecular weight of less than 300,000 and consist of from 18 to 40% by weight of a vinylaromatic hydrocarbon and from 60 to 82% by weight of one or more partially or completely hydrogenated hydrocarbons and in which A and A' are each a polymer block of a vinylaromatic hydrocarbon and B is a polymer block of a diene hydrocarbon, the weight ratio of the polymer blocks A to A' is less than or equal to 1:5 and greater than 1:10 and the mean molecular weight of polymer block A is from 2,000 to 20,000 and that of the polymer block A' is from 10,000 to 110,000 and the molecular weight of the B block is not less than 18,000. The block copolymers are prepared by a process in which, in a first polymerization stage, the vinylaromatic hydrocarbon is completely polymerized to form the A or A' block, in the second polymerization stage the diene hydrocarbon is completely converted to form the B block and thereafter the second portion of the vinylaromatic hydrocarbon is polymerized on to form the A or A' block, the portion of a vinylaromatic compound for the preparation of the A' block being not less than five times, and not more than 10 times, the weight used to form the A block. The block copolymers are used for the preparation of molding materials.

    摘要: Oligomeric polyfunctional initiators for anionic polymerization of dienes and/or alkenylaromatics are prepared by a process in which a mixture of dialkenylaromatics and alkenylaromatics in a molar ratio of from 1:4 to 1:100, in an inert solvent, is run, at from 25.degree. to 100.degree. C., continuously or in small portions, with thorough mixing, into an initially taken mixture which contains from 1.2 to 3.0 molar equivalents, based on the dialkenylaromatics, of one or more organolithium compounds and an inert solvent, and is polymerized completely. The resulting oligomeric initiators are used for the preparation of unfunctionalized or functionalized polymers or block copolymers from dienes and/or alkenylaromatics, and the functionalized polymers thus prepared are used as prepolymers for other resins.

    摘要: Isobutylene polymers are prepared continuously, in aliphatic C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -hydrocarbons in the presence of soluble cationic polymerization initiators and coinitiators at from -40.degree. to 40.degree. C. and under from 0.01 to 10 bar, and the solvents and monomers vaporized during the polymerization are recycled, by a process in which the liquid stream of the monomer solution, containing 40-95, in particular 50-85, percent by weight of the monomers, the liquid streams of the recycle and of the coinitiator solution and the separate stream of the initiator solution are combined in a first zone containing the polymerization zone, and the resulting polymer solution is taken off continuously through a second zone vertically below the first zone. The liquid streams of the monomer solution, the coinitiator solution and the recycle can furthermore be fed into the first zone separately from one another.

    摘要: A process for the manufacture of homopolymers and copolymers of .alpha.-monoolefins by polymerizing the monomer or monomers by means of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst comprising (I) a titanium trichloride component and (II) an aluminum-alkyl component, wherein the titanium trichloride component (I) employed is obtained by (1) in a first stage moistening a suitable conventional catalyst component, consisting entirely or substantially of titanium trichloride, with a hydrocarbon mixture comprising a liquid alkane hydrocarbon and a liquid benzene hydrocarbon and (2) in a second stage drying the catalyst component, moistened with the hydrocarbon mixture, under an inert gas, with constant mechanical mixing, within a certain period, at a temperature which is from 5.degree. to 50.degree. C. above the boiling point of the highest-boiling hydrocarbon present in the hydrocarbon mixture which has been used to moisten the component. Homopolymers and copolymers having particularly advantageous morphological properties can be manufactured by the process of the invention.
