The method of managing a media file comprising a plurality of media objects comprises correcting at least one media object from among the plurality of the media objects; generating or renewing information relating to unused regions generated in the media file according to the correction; and managing the media file based on the generated or renewed information. Therefore, difficulties in file management occurring due to correction of the media objects are reduced so that the media file can be efficiently managed.

摘要： Provided is a coding and decoding method and apparatus using a plurality of scanning patterns. The method for coding image data includes: (a) obtaining N×M data by firstly source-coding the image data; (b) scanning the N×M data using a predetermined scan pattern selected from a plurality of scan patterns in response to the obtained N×M data; and (c) firstly source-coding the scanned data. Accordingly, coding and decoding image data having various characteristics can be implemented efficiently. Particularly, even for the image data having an interlaced scanned frame format, more efficient coding and decoding can be achieved.

摘要： Provided are a filtering method and apparatus for removing blocking artifacts and/or ringing noise. The filtering apparatus includes (a) performing one-dimensional discrete cosine transform (1D DCT) on video data on a block-by-block basis in a horizontal or vertical direction; (b) performing 1D DCT in the other direction of (a) and quantization on at least one of 1D DCT coefficients for a pixel obtained by performing 1D-DCT on the video data, the pixel being selected according to pixel position; and (c) generating filtering information based on the quantized pixel coefficient obtained from (b). According to the filtering method and apparatus, it is possible to reduce the amount of calculation when obtaining filtering information to remove the blocking artifacts and/or ringing noise.

In the data synchronization method and apparatus, clocks of transmitting and receiving sides as well as video and audio data can be synchronized simply and efficiently using PCR or OCR information transmitted from a multimedia broadcasting system.
