Abstract: A novel functional panel that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The functional panel includes a base material and a pair of pixels, and the base material covers the pair of pixels and has a light-transmitting property. The pair of pixels includes one pixel and another pixel, and the one pixel includes a light-emitting device and a first microlens. The light-emitting device emits light toward the base material, and the first microlens is interposed between the base material and the light emission and converges light. The first microlens includes a first surface and a second surface; the second surface is closer to the light-emitting device than the first surface is; and the second surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the first surface. The other pixel includes a photoelectric conversion device and a second microlens. The second microlens is interposed between the base material and the photoelectric conversion and converges external light incident from the base material side. The second microlens includes a third surface and a fourth surface; the third surface is closer to the photoelectric conversion device than the fourth surface is; and the fourth surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the third surface.

Abstract: A highly reliable light-emitting device is provided. Damage to an element due to externally applied physical power is suppressed. Alternatively, in a process of pressure-bonding of an FPC, damage to a resin and a wiring which are in contact with a flexible substrate due to heat is suppressed. A neutral plane at which stress-strain is not generated when a flexible light-emitting device including an organic EL element is deformed, is positioned in the vicinity of a transistor and the organic EL element. Alternatively, the hardness of the outermost surface of a light-emitting device is high. Alternatively, a substrate having a coefficient of thermal expansion of 10 ppm/K or lower is used as a substrate that overlaps with a terminal portion connected to an FPC.

Abstract: Manufacturing equipment of a display device that is capable of successively performing steps from formation of a pixel circuit up to formation of a light-emitting element is provided. The manufacturing equipment includes a manufacturing apparatus of a light-emitting device that is capable of successively performing a film formation step, a lithography step, an etching step, and a sealing step for formation of an organic EL element and a manufacturing apparatus for formation of a pixel circuit that drives the organic EL element. Abstract: A high-resolution, high-definition, or large display apparatus is provided. A metal mask is placed over an EL layer and film deposition is performed with the metal mask, whereby an island-shaped counter electrode is formed. Then, the EL layer is processed using the counter electrode as a hard mask. Alternatively, after an EL layer and a counter electrode are formed over an entire surface, processing using a metal mask is performed. An insulating layer that electrically insulates adjacent pixel electrodes from each other is positioned between adjacent light-emitting devices. A resist mask is formed over the insulating layer. A plurality of EL layers and a plurality of counter electrodes overlapping each other over the insulating layer are partly removed using the resist mask, whereby part of the insulating layer is exposed. Thus, the adjacent light-emitting devices are electrically insulated from each other over the insulating layer.

The thin film transistor for a driving circuit and the thin film transistor for a pixel are inverted staggered thin film transistors including an oxide semiconductor layer which is in contact with a part of an oxide insulating layer.
